We hope all of you have a great holiday season and wonderful Christmas. Thanks so much for being part of the Cycling News community in 2025 and beyond!
whenever I read about something Remco say about that Giro it is obvious to me that he believes he was already sick on that stage. And it makes sense. He got dropped on stage 8, did a very subpar TT (even if he won) on stage 9 and then abandoned directly.
When Remco talks about what could’ve...
Vike is much closer to the Olympic team than Tønseth. Tønseth went into basically no chance territority after being "only" sixth Norwegian in the 10k in Ruka and missing Trondheim qualification. There are athlest 8 skiers more qualified for the 10k skate and the skiathlon, then one could argue...
More longer climbs in Catalunya. If he’s serious about his GC ambitions he should race more proper mountains. So I think chosing Catalunya over Paris-Nice is fine.
I didnt see the race yesterday, but I’ve read a lot of speculation among Norwegian watchers that her skis were not good. She’s had a good start of the season, inte first two weekends, so I think its too early to say that age is catching up with her.
In january 2024 you disagreed with me when I said she should stop focusing so much on trail running:

I dont know about Nepryayeva, but Korostelev has been training in Ramsau and Livigno...
And Nepryayeva also so far behind. This race on the women’s side is very much B-level and Nepryayeva is nowhere close to the top. Even clearly beaten by an Australian..
Having Remco ride MSR and Flanders would increase the chance of this. It is probably easier to fluke a win in any of those races instead of trying to beat Pogi in LBL or Lombardia.
