Teams & Riders Froome Talk Only

I've not been here for a long long time, and yet I find folks still talking about the ole Froomey. And yep, I feel exactly the same way.

    Dave Brailsford - cycling genius

I've not been this year, but I wouldn't underestimate the dislike of Sky in previous years. The twice I went in the last three years, I've experienced people being polite to me by the road when they know I am English, then when the realise i don't support Sky, shaking my hand, inviting me to...

Re: Re: Check the report ? Ask the Committee ? I guess I'm prepared to believe that the Committee didn't make it up. Whether the 'source' did, who can tell? Maybe I'm naive, but Ockham's razor and all that.

Re: I've never thought it would lead to anyone losing titles, etc. tbh. But I am surprised it's quite this condemnatory. I thought they'd be a lot more weasel words.

Re: Re: From what I've read so far in various reports, they have also not limited their findings to just one doctor and just one rider. Explicit reference to 'a source' who claims that 'a small group' of key support riders were 'all using corticosteroids OOC to lean down...'. Matt Lawton...

Re: Sky Exactly. Team claims to have a ZTP. Team found not to adhere to it. Prompts questions of (i) integrity (ii) trust (iii) competence. All of which would suggest that maybe more oversight is needed to ensure sure teams are not allowing, enabling or facilitating doping? There's also the...

Re: Sky Team Sky shared facilities, and staff with British Cycling, the licence is held by a holding company registered in the UK. Hence are subject to UK regulation. The committee has no jurisdiction over foreign-owned / registered / based cycling organisations. I'd have thought this was...

Re: Sky Yes, it is. The Committee is concerned with the whether more is required to regulate sport, or whether teams (whether publically or privately funded) have adequate governance without it. Material to this is the culture and practices with which such teams operate. No one is saying Sky...

Re: Sky Assuming this is true, it's hard to see how they can wriggle out of this. They ordered the patches, they lied about ordering the patches, and then it would seem that they forced the supplier to lie about their delivery to help cover it up.

Teams & Riders Alberto Contador Discussion Thread

Re: ] He does indeed look good. And hardly lardy. Seems to be enjoying being on a bike still. Amused me vastly to see AC's page still on the front page of the forum!

Teams & Riders Froome Talk Only

I am not entirely sure, no matter what happens next, that Froome will ever be exonerated completely. Perhaps die hard Sky fans will be able to suspend disbelief...for the general public or July fan? Nah, I think his reputation and legacy is already toast. For all the press have gone on about him...

Re: Re: I think the game is up insofar as Sky's reputation is toast. But I don't think that'll make any difference to Brailsfraud. It was clear to me when none of the jiffygate stuff caused him to quit that he would bull it all out, largely uncaring about mere reputation when winning was the...

Teams & Riders Froome Talk Only

Re: Re: Depends on the cycling fans. In my little corner of the UK, we've all been doubters for years. Not all are quite as happy as I at this time, but I'd say none felt it was unexpected. Kind of depends who you hang with. As for the 'we like winners' and don't much care about panache...if...

Teams & Riders Froome Talk Only

Re: No surprise - except perhaps the timing. Nice little present from Santa for me. And though it's 'only' an AAF, it's usually the little, overlooked things rather than the big stuff people are worried about, like EPO or whatever, that'll catch people out, so that's no surprise either. It...
