Where is Hausler this year? Don't recall hearing about an injury or other problem, but hasn't raced.

    Calorie deficit - how much?

How do you arrive at a (quite specific) daily total? I have trouble arriving such a specific formula which can allow for >5hrs to a rest day across various intensities. DRI (8700kcal -- adjusted for height/weight/age/gender?) + what your bike computer says you've expended through exercise...

Training when time is not a major concern

... I guess, following this line of thought, you end up with the question: 'what does a pro's training schedule look like?' More out of general interest than something I'd ever want to implement.

Training when time is not a major concern

So we've established that even if you're riding 30 hours a week you still don't want to be riding just continuously at 70% of threshold (thank god!), but we don't seem to have got a whole lot further. Some thoughts from my own riding: It seems to me that when I've got more time (over a period...

Mixing Groupsets - Whats Works & What Doesn't.

No - I'm not particularly upset. I'm not anyway affiliated with the site, was more of a general comment. And you deserve credit for assembling the info... but so did the original. And like I said this is really useful info. On the whole, this new maintenance section is probably the best part...

Mixing Groupsets - Whats Works & What Doesn't.

This is a very useful place to have this, but it's not cool to lift whole articles without giving reference to them. http://cyclingtips.com.au/2014/10/mixing-groupsets-what-works-together-and-what-doesnt/

Re: Good to see. He's too good not to be WT - even with track commitments. Yet to see his best.

    Kristoff

Well - this one has left me with a bitter taste... Too much - not normal.

Dave Millar - anti doping hero

Is he really a good spokesperson? All I ever hear from David Millar is someone who has zero time, understanding or compassion for a view which isn't his own. Such an arrogant guy; I wouldn't have him represent me or my interests.

    Lloyd Mondory

low profile rider positive + circ report = easy opportunity for chest beating from UCI ... but really this is how it should be for all cases not just the "easy" ones. ...jeez - pro cycling makes you a cynical b*stard!

    Lloyd Mondory

yes - not anti-doping so much as anti-unfairness.

my thoughts exactly. why are these french nobodies and astana C team schmoes NOT (edit) smashing everyone when doping???

    Headphones

Yeah - I think it's a really bad idea to wear earphones on open roads. I can usually hear when a car is gonna be trouble/ dangerous well before I can see it.

books on the history of the bicycle?

Thanks for the interesting suggestions. I might give them a look after I get through 'bicycle' by David Herlihy which I found through a little online searching. It's full of diagrams, historical drawings and photos, with discussion on the social effects of the bike and so on. Exactly the sort of...
