Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

Classics/ Monuments vs. World Tour. Let's just simplify it, WTs always feature stages that are even harder than the monuments. Except Pogacar, most winners of monuments do not perform well in these hard stages of the WT.

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

Pogi's P-R latest performance was an improvement to last year. He landed second place behind Wout but with identical time, compared to his second place finish behind MvDP last year with 1'18" in arrears. While pacing each other in front, it was noticeable that Wout was fully committed on...

    Paris-Roubaix 2026, one day monument, April 12

TDF route planner should include an ITT stage over some cobbled stretches used in the PR so that the big/heavy riders could also shine.

Teams & Riders The Remco Evenepoel is the next Eddy Merckx thread

Would the UCI return the U23 Category to hone the skills of the young recruits in bike handling and riding in a tightly packed peloton before moving in to WT? Most of the younger generation of cyclists like those who followed Remco's trajectory in WT by not spending some years in U23, are the...

Paul Seixas: Tour de France Winner 2031

It's Seixas turn to race intelligently today as the three UAEs, plus Ayuso-Skjelmose combo would surely be planning an ambush.

Teams & Riders The Remco Evenepoel is the next Eddy Merckx thread

I hope that Remco has already improved in his bike-handling while navigating the cobbles. He was OTL during the 2018 Roubaix Juniors, while the likes of Skjelmose, Simmons and Rodriguez finished prominently at top 10. Ronde has fewer stretches of cobbles than Roubaix though, but climbs are there.

Ronde van Vlaanderen 2026, monument, April 5 (men's)

Remco is an exciting rider. Since no long climb on the menu, I want to see him take the first initiative to attack before Pogi . He should not worry to stay in front since Pogi is game in working together. For him to win though is to drop Pogi since two-up sprint between them is not 50-50.

    Team Ineos Discussion thread

He started well in his first race at Provence but came down crashing at the Paris-Nice. He rode as a domestic at Catalunya so as not to jeopardize his TDF participation.

    Team Ineos Discussion thread

Lack of endurance and stamina are definitely lacking. Ineos coaching staff should work on this and they must intensify a marathon-like regimen if they want to survive Pogacar's long-range attack.

    Paris-Nice 2026, March 8-15

Now that Skjelmose is absent at PN, Ayuso should just follow wheels until the last three kilometers. He has the explosiveness for the reduced sprint. Also, he should request that Alvarez, his understudy and training partner should be included to complete the team. In the absence of Verona, he...

Teams & Riders The Big 6

This year and until Pogi's retirement we just enjoy the battle of the next big 9 (2-10 rumble).

    Strade Bianche 2026, March 7, one-day race

Seixas is lined up at Strade Bianchi. Top 10 here could mean a possible run at Paris-Roubaix?

    Widar Wonderkid

Uijtdebroeks enjoyed the hype too, and between him and Remco, there were lots of promising talents, but few delivered above average results due to injuries and wrong programs. Most of these once-prodigies are now on their 25s or younger and they are still trying to score a notable win over...

    Kuurne - Brussel - Kuurne 2026

This race is not hilly and whatever happen to Lidl-Trek? Milan was virtually absent and their devo rider was their sole survivor in the lead group.

    Crashes, what can be done?

Crashes would be minimize if, BIG IF, discourage sprinters' train or prohibit drafting similar to the cycling portion of triathlon. However, this is a "wasteful" thinking.
