Teams & Riders The Red Bull - Bora - Hansgrohe team thread

I saw that. I assume the source was RB-Bora, otherwise why would Lipowitz's camp leak that during negotiation? I suppose if Ineos was trying to lure him to their team, Lipowitz's agent might tell Ineos that if the salaries are the same, he is staying at RB-Bora to try and get Ineos to...

Can you give me a link? I looked for info but couldn't find any. Maybe it is all in his native language? Thanks.

Teams & Riders The Red Bull - Bora - Hansgrohe team thread

I don't see Roglic working for Remco. I just don't see it. He left Visma for a reason and the reason was to be the top dog at his own team. Have we heard from Roglic yet on how he feels about the team signing Remco? Certainly, someone has tried to get his reaction? He did seemed...

Teams & Riders The Remco Evenepoel is the next Eddy Merckx thread

Is it there is nothing more to prove, or nothing more he can prove? For example, I kind of got the feeling from the Netflix special that he wanted to prove to Visma that they made a mistake by choosing Vingegaard as the team leader. Likewise, his palmares still lacks a TDF win. Maybe he...

Teams & Riders The Red Bull - Bora - Hansgrohe team thread

According to the article below, Lipowitz contract is out in 2025 and that probably helps explain the rumors. Furthermore, if I was his agent, I would be looking to negotiate a salary commiserate to him being the TDF leader next year. In addtion, being German probably gives his agent a lot...

I also wonder about the logistics. It's one thing to ride the Olympics in Paris immediately after finishing the TDF, but how much time would you need between the two races crossing the Atlantic?

    Juan Ayuso discussion thread

I would argue that if they were willing to let him go without a transfer fee they wouldn't let him ride the Vuelta and instead focus on riders that would be back next year.

I wish Netflix could do a season long series on RB-Bora next year (as they did on Movistar several years back). It appears next year could end up as a real freak show.

    Juan Ayuso discussion thread

Any chance UAE wants Ayuso to ride the Vuelta (and do well) so they can try and extract more money in the transfer market? Maybe Ineos? It appears they have a lot of money to spend and no one right now to spend it on?

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

He mentioned the other day that a goal was the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. Since the Olympics are scheduled from July 14th to July 30th, I assume that goal would prevent him from riding the TDF and might be a great year for him to ride the Vuelta?

He is certainly on pace. Hopefully he doesn't burn out and can stay healthy for the next several years.

Teams & Riders The Remco Evenepoel is the next Eddy Merckx thread

Wow ... what a great site. Talk about going down the Rabbit Hole. I asked ChatGPT to give me some peak climbing numbers at the Grand Tours over the recent years. I don't know how accurate it is and I ran out of credits to refine the list. Anyways here is what ChatGPT says FWIW.

Teams & Riders The Remco Evenepoel is the next Eddy Merckx thread

Does anyone have Remco climbing data (w/kg) from previous grand tours so that it can be compared to the other GC riders? I think that could go a long way to solving this argument.

And even then ... he finished over 9 minutes behind Pogi and 3 minutes behind Vinge. Furthermore, the 4th though 6th finishers weren't team leaders, so we really don't know how well those riders could have finished in relation to Remco had they been their teams main focus. If I were...
