    David Zabriskie is a vegan?

Whe dieting for the off season and dropping weight I live off veggies, fruit, and..... Meat. I eat tons of fruit but man the taste of a bbg steak or pot roast is lovely. Can't evolve that carnivore out of me in one generation.

    Great Breakway Riders...

I think its also worth mentioning that break away guys are far more exciting to watch than the GC race....Nothing wigs me out more than the guy who is like 15 seconds ahead at 1k and may or may not make it....Good stuff

    Great Breakway Riders...

Moncoutie? He has won two TDF solos... Surely Gilbert deserves a note...He may not break away all day but it's only because they would never let him. Could you imagine Gilbert and Voekler away they would never see them again. Jacob Piil was in like EVERY break away during the 2003 and...

    Kids' bike shorts?

JOIN A CLUB people!! I don't know how you guys do it without a club/bike shop sponsorship....Too expensive. Anyway...Clubs buy race cut kits...so the XS is really small, and fits kids...My little one started riding at 8 and she fit in them really well. The ones we get are the sugoi...

Short term crit intensive training + tactics to syay up front

Hey Mongol... Just my two cents but the only way I got into "crit" shape was doing crits. Normally during the week there are places that people gather and do "crit practice" in your area? I know this is pretty much the only way because I remember riding for months in the mountains and...

Cycling to lose weight while taking enough for the ride

Hi, Just a quick thought before everyone replies. The reason you may be cramping without the drinks are most likely due to the sodium and the electrolytes they have. Namely Calcium, Potassium, and Magnesium. Most recovery drinks contain electrolytes which aid in the H2O distribution...

    Crunches?

Pretty much what Justa said except crunches won't do much for core strength at all. Doing planks and core specific will make you strong, but the crunches will make your abs look pretty. honestly thats not a bad thing btw, might as well make them look nice, (if you are lean enough.)

SRAM and Zipp sign on to sponsor Astana

Well Berto took the big rendevous this year on SRAM, so that shouldn't be an issue. As far as Zipp I am sure they will hold up just fine for them.

    Bontrager Aeolus 5.0 ACC wheels

I have them...the clinchers. Don't have any real issues with them, but then again they are my race wheels so they get only a fraction of the miles my Ksyriums do. My only complaint is they are very flexy, not really stiff at all. But the carbon is just a fairing so they are hollow. I...

Any average Joe's training with ex Pros

Cantwell (when he was here in CA) Tony Cruz Ur forgetting Masters guys...Most of the 35+ guys can roll like a 14 cog easy on the flats. As far as the big ring deal, don't buy that. Most everuy pro/ex-pro I know will sit in there small ring for a while when they first start. Plus...

    Gears & Climbing

The grade matters big. And a 23 is WAY to small for someone your size. Yes, a 25 will make a big difference. I know because I am also a bigger rider. Although I am only 180 now which is only because I didn't race this year. At 195 I can tell you that losing weight would be a better option...

    Gears & Climbing

You probably have a 12-25....Also, you haven't mentioned how much you weigh. If you are a bigger rider you may need a 12-27. Or, you may just need to get used to climbing more. What are the grades you are climbing, do you know? Unfortunately, Shimano groups the last three to four cogs...
