He looked great early on, but faded pretty steadily as the race went on. I guess being so small may hinder him in the muddy stuff that just takes a lot of power. I like his riding style though, always attacking. Hopefully he has a good season this year.

Martin is not happy with Alpe d'huez descend.

Yikes, that guy in the video is a terrible descender.

I have heard nothing but great things about Royce. Ive only played with a geared hub that was built into a wheel, but it was very smooth. I don't think you'll go wrong at all with that build.

Just sharing some candy that's going out the door. White industries T11 hubs, H+Son TB14 rims, laced 32h 3x all around with DT Competitions and brass nipples. In eye blinding chrome of course.

Tubs vs clinchers: Clinchers are faster..

Right, but Moto GP is very much about cornering skill, compared with track racing, which relies heavily on whoever has the best watts/drag/rolling resistance, etc.

The A23 is wider, which is nice because it spreads the tire out a bit more which helps handling. Eyelets certainly are nice, but as you mentioned Velocity rims are plenty strong without them. Personally Id go with the A23, but neither is likely to be a bad choice.

The set screw preload I think falters in its lack of precision. With a threaded preload you can add tension evenly, easily and in exact amounts. That being said, I really like WI hubs and the set screw does not keep me from using and recommending them.
