    Looking to start up cycling.

Pics. Okay. A fixie if you want to ride track, and a road bike is recommended even if that's all you want to do. You'll also 'need' some basic tools, a helmet, clothing and shoes. Through a door or a gate is the usual way. Ha. Serious advice, steps in order: find a velodrome, find a club...

    Clean win but teammates doping

Nah, I ****ed up. I thought the guy was responding to the post above his, rather than the OP.

    Clean win but teammates doping

According to D-Queued - I, specially blessed as I am, can actually read - the report never suggested that those GC men might be clean, only that their domestiques might be doping more effectively. The former's greater ability, however slight, and slight it would be, can confidently be attributed...

Vandevelde interview - hope for a clean peloton

Seems like a reasonable statement to me. But I assume you have evidence to the contrary.

Which road bike: Trek 1.1 or Specialized Secteur Compact?

The prettiest one or the cheapest one, depending on where your priorities lie. If there's any tangible performance difference, the only way you'll find out is if you buy both. Since that's probably out, the best thing you can do is get the right size. Other stuff: there's nothing at all wrong...

    Andy Schleck Discussion thread.

Bobridge got blown over at the TT nationals this year.... I think that was by a passing truck, but it's not a big difference.

Why being a VEGAN is too hard for me

I was going to go vegan, but then I realized I'm no ascetic and that veganism is *** (most of the time; all of the time when it is said to override your own lack of masochism). So I continue to sate myself with the flesh of animals and make myself glamorous with their pelts.

Stage 21: May 27th Milano- Milano 30k ITT

I found it, and I was wrong - it was 48km/h and fifteen meters. :p http://www.53x12.com/do/show?page=article&id=89

Stage 21: May 27th Milano- Milano 30k ITT

I read somewhere (I don't recall where) that at 50km/h drafting a motorbike is beneficial even at twelve (I think...) meters apart. Don't quote me on that, though.

    how nerd is this forum?

http://www.goingthewongway.com/208/difference-between-nerd-geek-and-dork/ There's a lot of conflation and confusion of what constitutes a nerd or a geek, which, to be fair, isn't restricted to this forum. However, I don't think the mass-production or consumption of crappy memes, or being able...

My 3 year old son has cancer - Bike ride to help.

Why children? They're so easy to create anew, with their short growth periods and rudimentary personalities and intellects. And when they die, they leave a much smaller gap in people's lives. They're humans at their most expendable. Given the scarcity of resources available for cancer research...
