    Torque wrenches or dorque wrenches?

Being a mechanic (not bicycle) this was a very interesting read. A torque wrench can serve one basic purpose. Preventing some inexperienced soul from putting 1000% too much torque on a critical part. At least it gives some frame of reference for those without the experience to know what...

    Best climbers in history?

Because the topic is best climber, not favorite climber. Love him, hate him or indifferent you have to admit he was a/the top climber of his time.

12 years old girl on 1st/2nd cat climb

Is it the 'girl' part or the age that is concerning? I (for whatever reason) decided to run distance at an early age. (first marathon at 10yrs) I don't think it affected me in the long term. My parents didn't push me but did support me. Neither was active when I started running and neither had a...

Music! What are you listening to now?

This is another great song along the electronic lines, with a great lyric-"but then there's women on bikes, or just the women who straddle them" Mother Mother-The stand http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50LShhlkTfw&ob=av2e

Got any home made energy bar Recipes?

Running or riding I like peanut butter and honey, or peanut butter and nutella, just make sure you have plenty of water. Fig newtons are good too. As for the paydays, those are my favorite candybar! Ate on 3 weeks ago on an 80 mile ride.

    triathlete follies

You can't just bad mouth triathletes, I trail run quite a bit and I used to run a trail system that had regular mountain bike races. After every race I would see tons of litter on the trail. Gel packs, spent tubes, energy bar wrappers, you name it. It's a race, throw your trash at an aid station...

    Barefoot running: Fad or cult?

It must be a religion, it even has random people deciding to take up a cause against it for no good reason except to tell others how to live and what to believe. You had too much hate to just focus on Rapha?

    Barefoot running: Fad or cult?

I have been running for almost 30 years. First marathon in 1984, and for most of that time have been running in low tech and fairly basic running shoes. After reading Born to Run, I really do think there is science and physiology behind the minimalist running trend. I currently do all of my...

    Magicshine Lights: Thoughts?

I have been using a night rider for a few years now. It has been great. Easy to charge, dependable, etc... It doesn't have a real long battery life but I charge it about every third day for my 45 minute morning commute. Good luck.

Music! What are you listening to now?

Perhaps not "defining" me now but this is an all-time song from and all-time band. X http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYTbIOIXiyU&feature=related It has been a while since I've been in a pit like that though. I have mellowed in my 'old' age!
