The mentality in general in most sports have changed, due to commercialization of the society. Same in cycling. Any possible move is overanalysed and calculated more than ever, because there is so much glory, prestige, money etc. involved. Nevertheless, I think we should be really happy cycling...

Too bad for Purito the Ardennes classics and the Giro are very hard to combine. He's imo the top favourite for Fleche and an outsider for LBL, but the Giro's weak field this year might give him a unique opportunity to win a GT too.

I doubt Purito will take on the Giro. His priorities are the Ardennes classics, and the double Ardennes/Giro is nearly impossible. I can't see him winning the Giro nor another GT anyway. While La Fleche is made for him, and maybe he can win LBL (with a bit of luck) too.

Uh, what about a lack of belief, cooperation and/or strength. Or just the thought of losing to many energy and another rider (who did work less) taking away the victory...

Become 2nd and get some publicity in your home country or wheelsuck, get caught and end up 5th or something. Easy choice, I guess.
