Vuelta a España Vuelta a España 2025, Stage 3: San Maurizio Canavese – Ceres (134.6k)

To be fair, the likes of Lauwin-Planque and Saint-Vulbas would probably be tough competitors for that title. To add a little more randomness, though, the pretty train station hasn't even seen a passenger train in around 2 years... What hurts me most in this stage is that they're passing right...

Vuelta a España La Vuelta a España 2025: Who will finish on the podium?

I think Gall can surprise and get on the podium here. I know he wasn't good at the Vuelta last year but then again his entire 2024 season wasn't great and he's in much better form this year. The route suits him and it seems like he has full team support for GC. But I can also imagine that an...

Vuelta a España Vuelta a España 2025, Stage 1: Reggia di Venaria – Novara (186.1k)

I don't know where the municipality of Venaria Reale takes all that money to host two Grand Tour starts in two years, but I'll take it – the Reggia di Venaria is really a fantastic sight and a great out-of-town trip (nowadays only a short train ride away) that I'd recommend to anyone visiting...

Tour de France Femmes 2025 (July 26th- August 3rd)

Le Court took yellow on stage placings, and interestingly that would have still been the case if Vos had finished 4th. They would then also be tied on added stage placings but "as a last resort, the place obtained in the last stage contested is used". I had to look that one up, though :D

Tour de France Femmes 2025 (July 26th- August 3rd)

At least a slight bit more of a fight for QOM. Doesn't Vos want to defend her jersey though? Would be very disappointing if they accept defeat to Wiebes before the race even starts.

Tour de France Femmes 2025 (July 26th- August 3rd)

Also she crashed with almost her entire team just after she came back to the peloton :( Any news of Lippert? PCS has her listed in the group behind the peloton but the official TDFF tracker doesn't...

Tour de France Tour de France 2025 Stage 20: Nantua-Pontarlier (184.2k)

I remember seeing him on TV once, would have been in the (potential) winning move on stage 2 if Jorgenson had pulled with Vauquelin.

Tour de France Tour de France 2025 Stage 20: Nantua-Pontarlier (184.2k)

To be fair Asgreen should have probably dropped back once he was alone. No need to spend your bullets that early on a quite hard stage with a move that will go nowhere.

Tour de France Tour de France 2025 Stage 20: Nantua-Pontarlier (184.2k)

Would be a shame, tomorrow would actually be a good stage for him if he can recover somehow.

Tour de France Femmes 2025 (July 26th- August 3rd)

I'm looking forward to the TDFF, but I am not a big fan of overlapping with the men's TDF for an entire weekend. Even though the stage times don't overlap, it does take away a lot of attention in the run-up, for which this thread with barely 10 posts is a case in point... Last year, it was not a...

Tour de France Tour de France 2025 Stage 20: Nantua-Pontarlier (184.2k)

I really like these hilly transition stages late in the Tour. Suddenly 15 teams are struck by collective FOMO so it's raced like a classic, just without any big favorites. This will also be final the showdown for the only classification that really matters: The Ben Healy vs Quinn Simmons battle...

Teams & Riders The Remco Evenepoel is the next Eddy Merckx thread

Tour de France Tour de France 2025, Stage 18: Vif - Courchevel Col de La Loze(171.5k)

It hasn't been the most exciting competition so far, but today and tomorrow will also be the decisive days for the KOM classification. If Pogacar wins the stage, he will take 40 points, so whoever wants to challenge him better takes both HC climbs (also 40 points) beforehand. There are another...

Florian Lipowitz is the new German GC hope discussion thread

There was the Netflix show though which - although it seems to have had worse viewership than other sports' (or "sports'") - definitely got some younger people interested in cycling. So it's actually a good moment for German cycling to have a good GC rider entering the scene. It's also a bit of...

Vingegaard vs Pogačar - The Duel

I think it comes down to the current version of Pogacar basically not having any weaknesses. He's outstanding in TTs, in hilly terrain and (very consistently) in the high mountains and almost never misses a split in crosswinds. Usually you expect some tension if there's a better climber vs...
