Teams & Riders Vincenzo Nibali discussion thread

Nibali will target the overall win at the Giro, maybe a couple of stage wins at the Tour if he even rides/finishes it (which is doubtful at this point) and then try to get that gold medal in Tokyo. If he just wins the Giro I'll take it though !

Teams & Riders Alberto Contador Discussion Thread

I actually think it has more to do with the team. Those who don't like Froome probably didn't like Wiggins either. I don't hate Froome anyway, mentioning that he went from an average rider to a world-class rider all of a sudden in the 2011 summer is just a fact. Good for him though, he will be...

Teams & Riders Alberto Contador Discussion Thread

Yes it's true, even the first stage of the Basque Country Tour could have been included. I wanted to make a fairly short video though, initially I expected it to last 5 or 6 minutes but it ended up being way more than that

Teams & Riders Alberto Contador Discussion Thread

Yeah exactly. Contador attacked 4 times in the Tour 2010 (Mende once, Ax 3 Domaines twice, Tourmalet once), or 5 times if we count the Port de Balès climb. I think he only looked conservative in Morzine-Avoriaz and La Madeleine, but he had pretty bad legs in Morzine and due to this maybe he was...

Teams & Riders Alberto Contador Discussion Thread

Tour 2009 was pretty good level-wise IMO, even though Evans and Menchov flopped big tome. The top 10 was : Contador A.Schleck Armstrong Wiggins F.Schleck Kloden Nibali VandeVelde Kreuziger Le Mevel I's say this looks like a decent enough top 10 (the top 7 is as good as it gets), even if you...

Just one World Championship title and there's no way he would trade his achievements with Froome's ones I think.

Any chance that Vincenzo skips the Giro to focus on the Tour in 2021 guys ? I miss him in the GC contention in the TdF :/

Teams & Riders Thibaut Pinot discussion thread

Pinot will be so hungry in 2021. Some unfair people may be questioning his leader status after Gaudu's heroics in La Vuelta, even though the latter was virtually never able to follow the best guys "à la pédale"... but this will just make the revenge even sweeter.

    Most podiums in GTs

More importantly Contador won 9 GTs in 18 attempts on the road, that's a great record. I don't think anybody else in the past 35 years has a 50% winning record. Even Lance is stuck at 47%.

    David Gaudu discussion thread

Yeah that's what I was thinking too. Of course Gaudu is still young so there's room for improvement, but he was never able to follow the likes of Roglic or Carapaz in any stage I think. His 8th place is mostly due to breakaways, which is good since it allowed him to win 2 stages. I don't think...

    Richard Carapaz discussion thread

Great race from Carapaz. It's a shame Ineos messed up his preparation, but this guy is truly one of the best Grand Tour riders now. His Giro 2019 win was no fluke, although most people on here already knew it.

    David Gaudu discussion thread

Those two ITTs definitely mean FDJ will trust Pinot more than Gaudu to fight for a podium in Paris, no ? My prediction would be : Giro : Gaudu for the GC Tour : Pinot for the GC Vuelta : Both in a free role, aiming for stage wins
