I'm in the squat rack typing this on my phone between sets of bicep curls right now!

Teams & Riders Chris Froome Discussion Thread.

Re: There could be. Fitness is _very_ specific, and being good at one thing doesn't make you good at another. Cycling puts very specific demands on posture, muscles, tendons etc, and a 100 yard sprint after a hard ride and a crash could easily strain something. He looked fine coming over the...

    2016 TdF, Stage 12: Montpellier → Mont Ventoux (178km)

I'm one of those. I was looking for somewhere good to find news of this year's Tour and found this site and then this forum a few days ago. I'm mostly into mountain biking and haven't followed the tour for years, but this one is proving to be very entertaining! This afternoon the comments on...

Re: That could have been very nasty for Froome and the other two riders. Yes maybe he panicked a bit and ran off comically up the road, but he'd just been hit by two different motorbikes and climbed out from ubnderneath a human-broken-bike pile up. What do you expect him to do?

One of the seatstays is broken, which is part of the rear forks. People usually just say 'forks' and mean the 'front forks', but the fork-shaped bit at the back of the frame that the rear wheel fits between is also called the (rear) forks. It would have been much clearer had people just said...

    2016 TdF, Stage 12: Montpellier → Mont Ventoux (178km)

Re: Re: He's not that bad at running is he? Given how far he'd already ridden, he'd just crashed, and he was running in cycling shoes.

I don't know what I like more, the crazy downhill flailing, odd attempt at a sprint win, or today's tactical piss break. Is Chris Froome John Cleese in a thin suit?

I'm not watching this, just reading along here. Fun way to do it!

Does there being a breakaway have any bearing on the GC? Why would Froome or Quintana care if there's a rioder 10mins ahead of them, it's only their relative times that matter right?
