TT skills dont always translate well after 250km of racing. Pogi is a 10x better TT rider than MVDP and yet he couldnt close an 18sec gap at the end of PR.

I think Jumbo is severely undercooking Vingegaard to play into his strengths which is top shape in end of 2nd and 3rd week of TdF. And then Vuelta. And then try to do something good in WC.

Well the problem is not the route it is Vingegaard.

Why ? If the treble ? He is not doing GdL ? That would be 3 Monuments + 2 GT + WC. Surpassing last year 2 monuments.

I think they are just fishing for attention, I wouldnt put much weight into this. Everyone is throwing Pogacar name because he is basically the reference. It gets way more attention to say " Oh he can hold his own against Pogacar " versus " Oh he can fight for the win at X race "

The course is well suited for Pogi though. He can just follow, and attack on the Mont Kigali. Even if it is still a group behind there are enough verticals all along for Pogi to power through.

You cant compare Merckx and Pogi. Pogi basically can only lose to MVP and Vingegaard. Eddy Merckx was losing to guys like Romain Bardet lol
