    Van Avermaet going down?

It's not absurd GVA, not at all. You're in a sport that has been rife with this crap for decades and now it's in the public eye more than ever. Riders should stop being surprised by this and just deal with it.

    Team Astana's shameful legacy

Maybe this will finally be the nail in the coffin for Vino and he'll get outed from his position at Astana. I'm not sure if I should feel bad for Nibali or not.

    Moderators

I'll often read a thread at lunch and not be able to come back to it until the evening or the next morning, and in certain threads, that can mean several pages of posts. And if the conversation was heated, that means lots of snips. I can understand the reasoning behind it, but I think I'd...

2014 Vuelta - predictions for best prepared rider

I'm actually tipping Quintana to win this over Froome. I haven't seen a guy climb like Quintana in a long time. And that's not necessarily saying I think it's legit.

    Vincenzo Nibali

What part of his saying "the faster times could be explained by lighter bikes" and then supporting it with Dear Wiggo's math, is saying he thinks Nibali is clean? Straw man much? Good grief.

    Vincenzo Nibali

I was gonna say. It's a hell of a lot easier riding a $10,000 cervelo s5 than it is riding a steel schwinn. :P

You're right. I'll withdraw that comment entirely then.

    Thanks for that article.

    Vincenzo Nibali

I meant it more as a sweeping general statement as to part of why performances could have improved since 1974. Surely there's been some innovation? I'm not saying it explains Nibali's performance (or Froome's) specifically.

Read my above post Wiggo. Then read the rest of my point.

    Vincenzo Nibali

That's probably a weak point in my statement. I'm no history buff in regards to cycling, but I'd like to think that they've had different mindsets in how you approach the races, what races you prepare for, etc. Riding to recover more in the peleton versus being a hero and winning every stage...
