Is any rider able to challenge Contador in his peak form at the 2015 Tour De France?

I would have voted "all three" and "depends on the route". Good question to ask though! As we've seen over many Grand Tours, the favourite in peak form can always be beaten. Just scanning over the GT winners since 2006, I would say some non-favourites have surprised the traditional top-three...

    Future GT Winner

Great poll idea! I voted Aru, Majka and Rodriguez Aru to win the Giro 2015, Rodriguez to win the Vuelta 2015, and Majka to win a GT in the years to come.

The Hour Record attempt by Jens Voigt (18.09.2014)

It's taken some convincing but I think that if it takes the UCI changing the rules to get current professionals having a genuine attempt at this again, then as fans we are much better off. Comparisons to past legends would be ideal on the Merckx bike, but of course never really possible as...

The Hour Record attempt by Jens Voigt (18.09.2014)

I am very much undecided on how Jensie will go with this attempt. I think there is a fair chance that he may not be able to break Sosenka's record - but nevertheless I have tipped him to go 50-51km in the hour. There is no greater person than old Jensie to make this attempt though, and...

Will Froome ever win a GT again?

I think he can win the Tour again. It's understandable for riders to have a drop in form for a year, or two. Many riders never back up their Tour win the next year with good showings in the GTs. It's natural, rarely in any field are people at the top of their sport for longer than 12 months...

2015 Tour starts with 13km TT

Absolutely! Gives us a great idea of where everyone is at in terms of their form. And it gives plenty of TT riders the chance to wear a yellow jersey again after we've had sprinter's stages the last couple of years. Good to change it up.

2014 Vuelta a Espana, Stage 10 TT:Real Monasterio de Santa María de Veruela (36.7 Km)

I agree. He's building and staying under the radar. Also I think that given his injury at the Tour was so early and was only a wrist, he would have built a solid base by now, ready to unleash today and in the second half of this Vuelta. That said, I think all of Contador, Quintana, Valverde...

    Vuelta Dark Horses

Gesink, Caruso (Damiano) and Kangert were my 6-credit "unclassified" riders. I would have chosen Txurruka as a 4-credit if that's all I had left.

Rest Day 1: Who will win La Vuelta?

I think Froome might be playing this one right and staying somewhat under the radar. He could really impress in the TT, and then defend a strong position for two more weeks. I think Quintana and Rodriguez to podium, with Contador and Valverde fading later in the third week due to the lack of...

Teams & Riders Peter Sagan discussion thread.

I would have hoped for Sagan to at least try and see where he stands against his likely World's competitors in some of the earlier stages that were so suited to his abilities. Nevertheless, if he cleans up in the next two weeks with a couple of stage wins, then we'll know why he was so anonymous...

    WC Ponferrada 2014. Altimetry

I'd be putting my money on Valverde. Great form all year! Hopefully he isn't going too hard at the Vuelta and showing his hand too early. Maybe a quieter approach a la Sagan and Gilbert is the way to win the worlds..
