    Crazy Motorists

It's going to take a combined educative and political approach. Where I ride the traffic is always light but there are still yahoos from time to time who seem to believe that bikes do not belong on 'their' roads. The local RCMP are great. When someone 'brushes' by us we notify them and the...

Hard Shell versus Soft Shell Bike Cases

Thanks for all the good comments. The case I've been using is an Italian "TC-1" that looks like a big suitcase. Pretty flimsey in retrospect. First damage I had: Looked like it'd been lying on it's side and they tried to pick it up with a forklift ..... points of contact on the handle and on...

Hard Shell versus Soft Shell Bike Cases

I've had my bikes bent, spindled and otherwise broken twice by the airline baggage folks in my 'hard' shell bike case........ both times deforming the case itself. Both times this happened in multi-stage flights where I had to get off one plane and on to another. A good friend has a 'soft...

    Armstrong challenged by skier.

Cyclists, in the past have excelled at winter sports as well. Pierre Harvey was world class in both XC Skiing and cycling ca. 1980 and Clara Hughes medalled in Summer (TT) and winter (Long Track Speed Skating) ca. 2000.

Top 10 Cyclists from your country of all time

An ecclectic Canuck post: Max speed: Sam Whittingham (World Records for 1hr (recumbant/aerodynamic) 90.6km and for 200m 132.5 kmh) Track: Curt Harnett, Gord Singleton, and Lori-Ann Meunzer... and in the 70s Jocelyn Lovelle MtnBike: Ryder Hesjedal......... now road........... and Geoff Kabush...

Mt. Biker wins Road Race on his Mt. Bike

Odd thread. The sniping of roadie vs MTB is sophomoric. It's ALL great sport. Ask Ryder Hesjedal.

    Do you wear a helmet?

HI. Just a quick correction to your opening..... " started riding in Australia where helmets were compulsory. I have lived in the US and now Canada where helmets are not compulsory"..... In Canada it varies by province. In BC where I live it IS compulsory. I agree however. It saved MY...

    wasted talents

Svein Tuft has pretty much disappeared for the last month or two. Anyone heard if he's still over in Eu. Having had a head injury a few years back I can relate to the difficulty.

Why LA is not a doper (seriously)

And........ AGREE ....... and you might add: He doesn't need to (or no longer needs to) because he can afford weekly flights to and from high altitude training etc etc. I think Lance's doping, or non dopingg has or should become a non-issue. In future, if ICI follows WADA's lead...

    Muscle cramps after exercise

agree Agree with the above........ although, mild dehydration probably more common than the electrolyte abnormalities. If better hydration doesn't help, ensure an adequate warm-down.

Site is fine, forum people are rude

I'm fine with the new site ......... if ....if I can find the TDF team lists. I knew exactly where to find them on the old site........ Stated "Coming soon" or something like that. For the life of me I can't locate that heading on the new site. Any ideas, or has that been deleted?
