We hope all of you have a great holiday season and wonderful Christmas. Thanks so much for being part of the Cycling News community in 2025 and beyond!
Pretty much this.
I think riders just dumb it down a bit when they explain this to journalists because most people don't get it either way.
This is not your average Sunday ride at 150 Watts where your breakfast and sandwich at the halfway point can get you through. They are riding at...
Well, it is what it is but according to people on a spanish forum the road on the climb was perfectly fine, no snow either side... People like Alvaro Pino have also said this on spanish TV.
A bloody shame to see a small race pretty much strong armed into cutting their queen stage by the peloton.
At the top it was worse than Carpegna but the road was still safe.
I don't know the descent of the climb they cut, but if it was a main road like the one I did today they could have ridden it without any issues. It would suck, but it could be ridden. For context by the end of the descent I...
Saw this coming this morning during my bike ride...
Weather at 700m around 100km away from today's finish
Snow was much heavier than this just a couple km further but I didn't feel like taking the phone out in winter gloves and risk dropping it ...
The temperature was fine except for the...
I read the second part of the interview and the training part was very interesting.
At Quick Step he was on a more interval style training program with more focus on high end efforts which makes sense considering the overall profile of the cyclists at Quick Step.
With San Millan they...
Let's be honest, the level was also pretty low and the course really suited him. His only competition was Mohoric which is no Pog or Bernal like he faced at UAE, TA and the Giro. Luxembourg seems to actually have better competition.
I think the heat really suits him, his posicioning just isn't...
It seems like, much like Pog, he isn't as strong this second half of the seaason but that doesn't justify his atrocious posicioning at that key moment.
He will race Luxembourg which should be a good indicator of where he stands. The race has an interesting parcour with good competition and...
Hopefully they will race very aggresively from far out. We went to recon that last climb on our sunday group ride last week and it didn't feel anything special. Unless they come into the climb fairly tired, I expect a small group with usual suspects at the top.
In my case, I have heard expression many times before, particularly in car racing/tuning scene.
I won't say it's a common expression but it's far from the rarety many people make it out to be.
In my case I am from the very noth of Portugal (Monção) and studied and currently work/live in Porto.
This is like a 3rd tier field, but he is showing he is levels above everyone else.
This will be good for his confidence and for his status in the peloton.
With a TT still to go I don't see how he could lose the race
I think he just went to the front because he was a bit blocked. After that he slowed down and went straight to the wheel of the first onepassing him
Very nicely done by him
Honestly, doesn't seem like such a bad deal. I mean, Pog already has a super team around him and it doesn't seem like it will need Almeida., that is whty they hired Soler . And it is not like Pog will ride every race either.
Let's see:
A Team:
Pog
Soler
Majka
Formolo
Polanc
Bjerg
