    Stephanie testifies today

It's a tough spot to be in. Those 'sponsorship coordinator' jobs for companies like Oakley or Nike or whatever are probably some of the best, most fun jobs in the world. Pretty much hangin' out with famous people, making sure they get what they want, and relaying back to the brand what they want...

    Carbon Wheels Absorb Hits?

Your best option might be some low profile aluminum rim tubulars. Deep carbon are not particularly smooth riding. Problem is, your goal is totally subjective. It's to minimize what you perceive as a harsh ride. Only you will know if a new wheelset will achieve the goal. Nobody can quantify...

    Carbon Wheels Absorb Hits?

Clincher or tubular? Carbon clinchers may diminish road buzz, not necessarily eliminate it. Will probably feel about the same if you hit something big. 25mm wide tires will probably help your cause more than carbon rims. Tubulars feel much better all the way around.

G.I. JOEEEEEE! [Tsunami of USADA cases against cyclists]

But at least in Europe the sport is pretty well professionalized and you kind of expect to get everything that goes along with that. Though I'm sure that the lower levels, it's an ugly scene. In Euro Pro racing, it's not the doping that bugs me, it's the corruption. That Lance gets to ride...

G.I. JOEEEEEE! [Tsunami of USADA cases against cyclists]

I don't think anyone really think of Floyd or Papp as 'heroic' for talking. But they are now doing a good thing. Even though they may have done bad things, good things and just normal things in the past, and will continue to do all types of things in the future. Are they're motives pure? No...

Doping - Cat 1 pack fodder to TDF winner?

Without knowing any specifics about Floyd, but just to illustrate how someone could go from TdF champ to average US Pro. Un-doped and fit: 420ftp/70kg = 6w/kg Doped and fit 10% drugs benefit: 462 ftp/70kg = 6.6w/kg Undoped not fit: 380ftp/75kg = 5.1 w/kg Totally hypothetical, but shows how...

Doping - Cat 1 pack fodder to TDF winner?

400ftp/75kg = 5.333333 w/kg = Pro 360ftp/79kg = 4.5 w/kg = maybe Cat 2 10% Power here and 4kg there can make a huge difference in performance. There are a lot of factors that would cause performance to decline. Probably the most obvious is having to worry about how you're going to pay rent and...

    Rolf TDF38

Great wheels. Super light and very aero, for my money the paired/low-count design is incredibly fast. Larger, more powerful riders will be able to flex them quite a bit. The one knock is front hub durabiity. Expect to replace the front bearings at least once a year. They go quick, but that's...
