They are but Remco never showed dominance in hilly TTs like this one.

Pogacar won the hilly/mountain TT in the TdF 2024 and La Turbie is a climb of 5.7%, Remco was nowhere near the level of Vingegaard or Pogacar. And that's peak Remco (stage 21 though, not a one day race).

5% is for power climbers. No one has more power than Pogacar. I wouldn't favor Remco even on 3-4% gradients against peak Pogacar.

I just promised to myself I would agree with James if Vingegaard didn't finish the Vuelta 3 minutes ahead of Almeida. Of course I think Vingegaard is completely cooked and very underwhelming since Angliru.

Pogacar is a beast in 5% climbs. This is where he shines.

    Isaac Del Toro thread

UAE with Del Toro and Almeida against Vingegaard in the Giro. This would be interesting. I think Del Toro is the next big thing in cycling, he just needs to wait for Pogacar's retirement to win the TdF.

People forget that doing PR is not the same as doing a flat stage in TA or PN despite both are 1 race day. Even the preparation is not the same.

In the Giro, as a viewer, I was bored in the vast majority of stages but we had 3 incredible stages that "save" the race. The Tour was good in the first week but Pogacar clearly cooked Vingegaard on Hautacam and the race was over. In the Vuelta, we are really having an awful show. The only...

You were right. Almeida is closer to Vingegaard than Vingegaard to Pogacar.

Maybe I am not seeing this correctly but I think Pogacar is more beatable in the RR than the TT. I think Remco has a chance in the RR due to Slovenia's weakness but in the TT, there is no tactical option, it's just pure power.
