    Paris-Roubaix 2026, one day monument, April 12

If Wouts win bothered people today, they are either Pogacar fanboys or else cycling is the wrong sport for them. Never has cycling been about the strongest always winning, tactics and playing the game will always be part of the sport. Now if it was a sprinter who does nothing the entire race...

Commentary and coverage on HBO MAX (formerly TNT, Discovery, EuroSport etc)

So we got a good range of commentar recently, I think Declan Quigley is now my favourite lead commentato apart from Matt Stephens, watching Pais Vasco was my first time having to endue CK this season, he hasn't got any better. You could tell his analyst was a bit confused by his nonsense at...

    Paris-Roubaix 2026, one day monument, April 12

Yeah, I was probably more of a MDVP fan, but after WVA won a mountain stage, TT and sprint stage in the same Tour, I have always had huge respect for his abilities. I did feel his palmares were light in terms of big wins, so today was a great win.

    Paris-Roubaix 2026, one day monument, April 12

Well done WVA, great to see him win after all his troubles the past few seasons. He needed and deserved to add another big win to his palmares, just a pity it wasn't a three way dust-up with MDVP, he rode brilliantly today despite the poor luck. Props to Pogacar as well for animating things as...

    6th Paris-Roubaix Femmes, April 12th, 2026

I really thought that Vos would win in a sprint handy enough, but boy was I wrong. Who would have expected FDJ to win Strade, Flanders and Roubaix with 3 different riders. Like others have said, Koch has really moved up a level this year. She was always a good rider, but she has moved top tier...

Who had forecast Inge Van der Heijden to win the women's race?

    ¡Adiós!

I said it was zero logic to criticise riders like those mentioned who do far more to earn their wins than sprinters ever do. One is criticised, the other lauded. Its not a different perspective, its the realty.

    ¡Adiós!

By that logic, sprinters and their teams are "stealing" chances from all the other riders in the peloton by shutting races down. How many breaks are caught right at the end of a race only for a sprinter who hasn't done a tap of work all race to come through to take the win. That is more akin to...

Guess who raced in the cleanest sport in the world.

What a clown, how many guys got busted in 2008 alone? Also Petacchi was still a top sprinter in Cavs early years, and he was mid 30s at that point. Hushovd, Freire, McEwen, Zabel, Dean, Hunter, Cooke, Boonen all raced though the Armstrong years and were still up there in the Cav era. Were they...

    ¡Adiós!

Something I will never understand is how guys like Rui Costa or Gerrans will get flak for wheelsucking, yet sprinters are celebrated for doing far, far less than those examples. Zero logic.

Van Empel does not look fantastic so far, but early days. One new thing I noticed from her today was bunny-hopping the planks. They were not the highest for sure, but I cannot recall her bunny-hopping before. Van Alphen did the same, but outside of Puck, she was one of the few ladies who could...

    Lesser known races 2025 edition

In one sense, what UAE have done this year without a top tier sprinter is incredible(Reminder HTC had Cav, Greipel, EBH), but on the flip side, they are way too overloaded with talent. I much preferred when teams had 20 riders and talent was more evenly spread. Imagine Cofidis or Arkea with some...

Lesser Known Road Racing for Women Thread

Holmgren did a lot of work in the finale for NFB and still managed to beat most of the group. Really strong ride. I think Kim LeCourt really needs to change the National Champions Jersey, it was quite confusing with her, Vallieres and Moolman-Pasio in the group today. With the Rainbow helmet...

2025 EC: Thread for all the women's races + Mixed Relay

Silver or Bronze doesn't make much difference to a rider as decorated as Van der Breggen, and she had sat on Kasia's wheel the whole time so it was about respect really. If it had been some other Dutch riders, it might have been different.

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

They came at the end of the Hinault era, he had won 4 Tours before he faced off against either and was coming back from injury in 84 when Fignon was a freak. Just look at the margins of Hinaults victories, twice over 10 minutes. He dominated every bit as much as Pogacar. Roglic is a clone of...
