    Tour de France Tour de France 2025 Stage 7: Saint-Malo – Mûr-de-Bretagne (197.0k)

Believe me when I say I rate that achievement by WVA higher than any numbers of wins by any sprinter. Outside of GC guys, I consider that to be the biggest achievement of the 21st century Tour history, and I ain't a WVA fan.

    Tour de France Tour de France 2025 Stage 7: Saint-Malo – Mûr-de-Bretagne (197.0k)

For the record, I don't like any one dimensional sprinter for the reasons that are implicit in the stats. They do far less yet get far more opportunities than any other type of rider in cycling. I look at the effort and work that Ben Healy did yesterday to win a single stage, yet a sprinter...

    Tour de France Tour de France 2025 Stage 7: Saint-Malo – Mûr-de-Bretagne (197.0k)

If winning stages is heavily skewered in favour of sprinters, they why compare them to the likes of Merckx or Pogacar? give them a sub-category or put an asterisk beside them or something. Sprinters are not worthy of having things skewered in their favour.

    Tour de France Tour de France 2025 Stage 7: Saint-Malo – Mûr-de-Bretagne (197.0k)

Let me ask a question here. In the 21st century, how many times has a sprinter won 4 or more stages in a single Tour? Now, how many times has a TTer, climber, breakaway or uphill finisher won 4 stages in a single Tour? Drop the number to 3 or more stage wins in a single Tour a day ask the same...

    Tour de France Stage 6: Bayeux – Vire-Normandie (201.5k)

Well done Ben Healy, fantastic ride. Like many, I love his attacking style and love to see it rewarded. This first week has been pretty decent, better than all those Tours with innumerable pointless sprint stages, that's for sure.

    Giro d'Italia Giro d'Italia 2025, Stage 8: Giulianova > Castelraimondo (197 km)

What? Would you prefer 8 sprint stages like we had at the Tour last year?

Pogacar's last 12 months vs. rider XY's career

What is even more surprising is that allowing a World title/monument cancel each other out, some people would still take the rest of Cavendishs career over Pogacar. Pogacar Tour Giro 2 Monuments Strade Fleche Emilia 12 GT Stage wins Cavendish 55 GT stage wins 3 Scheldeprijs 2 K-B-K 2 British...

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

Apologies if this stat has been highlighted somewhere already, but if Pogacar podiums on Sunday, he would be thd first rider since Sean Kelly in 1984 to podium all 4 Spring Monuments in a season. Cannot think of anyone in the intervening years who ever managed it.

So sad for Worst, had a late start to season due to Covid recovery, but seemed to getting back to her top form and now going to miss the busiest part of the year. Must be totally demoralising.

Fem not racing this weekend unfortunately. Crashed in training and injured her knee. Definitely has not been her season. https://cyclinguptodate.com/cyclocross/fem-van-empel-injured-during-training-ride-and-forced-to-miss-key-world-cup-weekend I think this also means the World Cup title is...

Alvarado almost threw that away with mistakes on the last lap, Brand had that off-camber section really really dialled in. She took huge chunks of time there each lap compared to everyone else. Bad, bad day for Fem, she looks very far from the rider that dominated the last two seasons. Even...

I can confirm the Alpecin team bus was in Dublin as i walked right by it. I was a bit surprised as with no Pieterse, Alvarado or Van De Putte, it took me a bit to think what rider was there. The Jumbo team bus was also there which also seemed a bit much for just two riders, but I guess one is...

    Dumb stuff cycling fans say

I think I still haven't stopped laughing at the idea of Cavendish being under-rated. Probably THE most over-rated cyclist of all-time. Take him out of the modern sprint train era and he might have been a slightly better version of Jean Paul Van Poppel.(This can also be applied to any sprinter of...

World Championships 2024: Men's Road Race (September 29)

Well it was you that brought up football and ironically are now moving the goalposts, from originally a team winning 4-0 to a team doing that all the time. Like I said, Pogacar winning was predictable, but winning from 100k out was not that predictable. Evenepoel, and Van der Poel have both...

World Championships 2024: Men's Road Race (September 29)

Well I never said it was super entertaining, it was memorable because it was super impressive and an all time performance. I get that people don't like super dominant performances, this applies to any sport. In athletics, Sydney McLaughlin and Mondo DuPlantis are the GOATs in their events and...
