2025 EC: Thread for all the women's races + Mixed Relay

Like I said, I'd prefer separate TTTs, but that isn't what you said to begin with. Your issue was with the entire concept of relays.
Yes it is, and you have not changed my mind. Entirely concept utterly flawed unless its purpose is social.

And in the context of a cycling team trial doubly so, because the discipline is, in and of itself, a test of the coaching and strength in depth of a nation.

It also seems to have failed enormously in gaining the interest of national associations and riders, given that only 7 teams entered the senior event.

No Vallieres or PFP this afternoon, so the favourites can't EF this up, right?

I sadly won't have time to watch as I'll be attempting to sell cheese in Japan, or something else that's time consuming, for a large part of the day.

Van Aert did the same in Sienna with Del Toro and all was praise for the victory🤔
Thats a really good point actually

Though this was admittedly a completely different type of situation
And in the Giro it was in a stage race with other riders and factors behind to consider like teammates riding for GC
And the parcours was totally different
With different riders
And different genders
And one was racing for 1st place whilst this was just for second
And the rider not contesting today didn't really care for minor placings

Other than those factors it's a great point, you're right of course to suggest that both situations involved people riding bicycles. Plus I've always said that it's healthy to hold on to weird grievances for 5 months then crowbar them in at random moments. On a personal note, I'm not happy with how FDJ failed Remy Rochas on stage 13 of that race, he could've won had he been positioned better, maybe I'll tip up to my local under 9s badminton tournament tomorrow to let the everyone know.

Today was more similar to a GC winner not contesting the stage win. You can afford to be generous when you are more successful. It'd be ridiculous for Van Aert to gift the stage win to Del Toro. For what?

VdB didn't care about silver with Vollering taking the gold, and she had the bronze secured because Niewiadoma had kept them clear from the chase.

None of that applied in the Giro.
