I guess I miss the reference but a Menchov career with 2 GT wins and 2 (1) Tour podiums would make him the best French GT rider since a long time (probably Fignon and Hinault - although they were a class above obviously, Jalabert won a Vuelta, Virenque, Pinot, Bardet, Peraud had podiums).

I tend to agree that the other two didn’t show it on a level as the Dauphine. But I wouldn’t say “not even close”. Pogi’s 4th in a strong Tour of Slovenia field was above Seixas Tour of the Alps, I would argue. And ok, Evenepoel didn’t have that impressive climbing performances as teenager but...

Still think the Tour will be quite close. Vingegaard certainly is still a bit undercooked. Visma maybe a bit overconfident with their "tire Pogi out" approach. But if VIngegaard can stay at 6min to Pogacar last year with an objectively horrible prep, he will be way closer this year.

I am completely sure he is not going. Its the last chance for Gall as target man at Decathlon. Seixas’ time is going to come anyway.

Yes, and Pogacar was 2nd and 1st and gained 1:01 on Evenepoel. (Also 44.5kmh avg. is a funny MTT…)

Would be nice if he can show this in the Tour as well. If so (climbing within 20s of Vingegaard on a 20min climb and better than Evenepoel), I would argue Bora has a new leader and Roglic is history.
