    Chaves vs A Yates

Re: Re: I have to disagree with this. Having ridden with them both from a young age it is clear that Simon was the more serious of the two and I think this gave him an edge when they were younger and pushed him ahead of Adam while Adam ended up being a bit in Simon's shadow. When Simon went...

Who will win the 2015 Vuelta?

Do we think astana will ride like in the giro? I would expect anyone competing to the end of the tour would be exhausted by week 3 that being the case

Re: Re: That's cyclingnew's fault tbh but it doesn't change anything. A nasty accident is a nasty accident but it wasn't intentional on Bardet's part. Mistakes happen unless you tip toe down a descent. It's a race, that's not going to happen nor should it. And it's not like Thomas doesn't have...

"It's frustrating, I tried so hard to get over the climb, I don’t know why guys don’t just sit where they are on descents. It was hard for me to understand." It's frustrating to see/hear comments like this. It is hard for me to understand how a pro can have this mindset.

Teams & Riders Alberto Contador Discussion Thread

Some of you are insane! It's very easy to have a bad moment in such a short effort no matter how in form you are. I wouldn't read much into this at all. I can see why you might be worried though as it does seem reminiscent of 2013 but arguably Contador hasn't done anything so far that Contador...

I'm pretty sure he's right about the gravel having an effect but the rest is pretty off base in my opinion (lets just ignore the discussion of 2011)

    1. Froome--I've seen Froome fly up short sections of the steep stuff before so I don't believe that will cause any problems, and besides I don't think those time gaps would be too significant anyway. In terms of the big mountains, there doesn't look to be enough sustained steep sections which...

Teams & Riders Alberto Contador Discussion Thread

I'm sure this isn't really a factor given Contador has ridden gravel climbs before without any apparent difficulty but does his climbing style actually suit a loose surface? I think I climb out of the saddle in a fairly similar way to Contador (inspired of course) and I always find a lack of...

I'm so delighted he's going back to the giro first person to win all 3 Gts 3 times (no jinx) would be amazing

    2014 Vuelta a Espana, stage 18: A Estrada-Monte Castrove en Meis (157 km)

climb seems more significant than i was led to believe. No more than 10 sec gaps tho i guess

2014 Vuelta a Espana, Stage 10 TT:Real Monasterio de Santa María de Veruela (36.7 Km)

whatever the truth of the matter... those transponder timings are not exactly dead on. The rest of Quintana's performance was very strong though but I think the route of this Vuelta would generally favour Contador if they are matching form (which appeared to be the case)
