    I don't think any rando would've attacked for second place. This way he also solidifies his second place. It's not that he spend absurd amounts of effort for this.

    He'll lose 2 seconds if he get's 3rd behind del Toro, he'd loose 6 if he got 4th or worse and del Toro second.

    They aren't trying to win the stage, so I don't think del Toro will do anything. Noone will do anything untill the sprint for second, which will be won by del Toro. Sad to say this but the most exiting part of this stage for me was sorting secondary literature.

    ... a sprint for second place maybe. They are going backwards. My guess is that it's to hot and tomorrow looms to large. But you never know, maybe we'll se an attack that works on the last climb by del Toro or Carapaz, or both of them.

    Expect an attack from someone on the last somewhat steep kilometer in the race 3k in the last climb. Right now this is looking like a del Toro sprint win though.

    Yes, they make it "slow" for del Toro, could motivate an attack, but it's also really hot so that might sap them all of initiative.
