I really feel sad for Bernal. This crash and the injuries are horrific. I cannot but wonder if the modern need to keep looking at the numbers on the handlebar stem, a la Froome, may have had a part to play. The pro's are so fixated in my opinion on the data that they forget to take note of their...
At the risk of stirring up a hornets nest.....not being in Europe or being able to get complete coverage of all the races, my one comment is be grateful for what you get.

It will be interesting to see how much the Clinic will put Israel Start Up Nation under scrutiny next year now that Froome is there.

Given Froome's current performance levels, and the fact he is leaving, I would let Thomas lead the Vuelta charge if he is fully recovered after this accident.
At least a chance to salvage a terrible season
Yesterday I had a thought regarding Froome, being left off the team, for whatever reason.
Three leaders, not enough domestiques, fitness or even poltics.
It may well benefit him as he will have another whole year to get stronger after the injury.
This may be a clever play by him.
