I think cyclingnews' coverage of the Olympic track races was substandard and so far with the BMX it has been abysmal. It hardly helps the call for more cycling events if one of the sports top web-sites can't be bothered to cover track and BMX properly.
On the other hand, it also pretty much guarantees the UK a medal of some colour in almost every event. Only 1 French sprinter to worry about, etc.
The problem with track is that there are really only 6 countries that take it seriously.
The exact opposite is true. The sports to axe are ones for which the olympics is not the most important event - e.g. tennis, football and, if a cycling event has to go it should be the male road race.
I definitely vote for no radios and smaller teams. I missed seeing the time gaps on TV though.
I would go for 5 mann teams in one day races and 7 in tours.
I think you are all being absurd thinking Uran sold the race. He has limited experience in a situation like that. He made a mistake against a vastly more experienced, much cleverer rider who also has a better jump.
New Frog Drug Sweep Horse Racing
According to the NY Times a new drug derived from frogs is being used in horse racing.
Presumably it helps them jump better.

TV Money versus Tradition - that is the question. In some sports tradition has won, in others it has been money.
Which would you rather watch - a new race with all the world's top teams and riders or a Milan San Remo (or even TdF) with only today's pro-conti riders competing?
I would go...
Life cycles are important too. I started racing in my teens, had jobs which enabled me to stay fit and didn't interfere with training. I was modestly successful. I married in my late thirties, started a family and now have a job that makes it hard to train. These days I race mainly to keep in...
Since the results of this poll are not in much doubt how about some follow-up questions.
E.g. If you stop and the rider doesn't have a spare tube because they left home without one, do you give them yours or do you pretend that you don't have one either.
I used to regularly give away tubes...
In my opinion, nothing after the worlds should be taken seriously. It reminds me of people hunting down late season races to get a licence upgrade after everyone else has packed it in for the winter.
