    2019 Giro d'Italia Stage 20: Feltre - Monte Avena 194 km

Re: Re: There's a difference between knocking a fan away when you're riding and hitting a fan in retaliation after you've been knocked off your bike. I wouldn't DQ Lopez, but it's not the same as swinging an arm out in self-defence.

    2019 Giro d'Italia Stage 20: Feltre - Monte Avena 194 km

Re: If so, there is only one penalty available: disqualification. Though that's not to say the commissaires won't make something up.

Vuelta 2018 Stage 2:Marbella – Caminito del Rey 163.5 km

Re: Re: Duchesne is on the Lapierre Aircode, the aero bike. Sarreau is on the Xelius, the lightweight bike. I imagine they get to choose what they prefer for any given stage.

Vuelta 2018 Stage 3:Mijas to Alhaurín de la Torre 178.2 km

I can't see anyone having an interest in dropping the sprinters on the climb. The GC teams will want the sprinters to stay involved so that their teams help with the chase. No way are Movistar and Sky going to ride all day to set up Valverde and Kwiatkowski for a flat sprint. You can imagine a...

Vuelta 2018 Stage 1: Málaga 8 km ITT

Re: It's been an odd season for Nibali. He's had his biggest one-day win, but otherwise done basically nothing. By PCS's estimation, his next best result is 11th in the GC at Tirreno-Adriatico. If he won the Vuelta/Lombardia and WCRR, I guess he could be in the running for Velo d'Or, but even...

    Pre La Vuelta-thread

Re: Re: Personally, I think it is (a) more likely that Kwiatkowski finishes significantly behind Valverde and (b) more likely that Kwiatkowski wins the thing than that Valverde does.

    Pre La Vuelta-thread

Re: Re: I can't see any reason why Sky would take on the responsibility of doing the chasing, unless they end up with the red jersey for a bit. Which I guess is possible, since Kwiatkowski is surely the overwhelming favourite for the prologue, and could then keep the jersey perhaps until stage 9.

    Pre La Vuelta-thread

It's one thing to show up, take part, and do the best you can. It's not implausible that he wins it, but it's highly unlikely, and shaping the latter part of the season about it is silly. It's not implausible that Chris Froome could win MSR, but you wouldn't argue he should shape his season...

    Pre La Vuelta-thread

Re: I can't see why he would go with the intention of abandoning. He has no obvious late-season goals to save himself for, as he has no chance in Innsbruck. The points jersey might be tough, as it normally goes to a GC man.

The Gianni Moscon Bandwagon Jumping Thread

Re: Re: Cheating? Do you mean the WCRR? It happens; loads of riders do it; those that get caught get DQ'd. It's not exactly strangling kittens with an inner tube. He certainly wasn't banned for it.
