I can't see anyone having an interest in dropping the sprinters on the climb. The GC teams will want the sprinters to stay involved so that their teams help with the chase. No way are Movistar and Sky going to ride all day to set up Valverde and Kwiatkowski for a flat sprint. You can imagine a...

Re: It's been an odd season for Nibali. He's had his biggest one-day win, but otherwise done basically nothing. By PCS's estimation, his next best result is 11th in the GC at Tirreno-Adriatico. If he won the Vuelta/Lombardia and WCRR, I guess he could be in the running for Velo d'Or, but even...

It's one thing to show up, take part, and do the best you can. It's not implausible that he wins it, but it's highly unlikely, and shaping the latter part of the season about it is silly. It's not implausible that Chris Froome could win MSR, but you wouldn't argue he should shape his season...

Re: I can't see why he would go with the intention of abandoning. He has no obvious late-season goals to save himself for, as he has no chance in Innsbruck. The points jersey might be tough, as it normally goes to a GC man.

Re: Re: Cheating? Do you mean the WCRR? It happens; loads of riders do it; those that get caught get DQ'd. It's not exactly strangling kittens with an inner tube. He certainly wasn't banned for it.
