Teams & Riders Alberto Contador Discussion Thread

Re: Re: Damn. My bad. I keep forgetting Degenkolb has been winning all season long. How naive of Alberto to think he has a change to achieve a better result than a sprinter who has placed second 3 times this season compared to his 8 second places in the WT. How silly of me and all of us...

Re: Re: Good question. None of those mentioned above. With Pantano, Brändle, and Felline getting sick in Suisse; it complicated things a bit. But my guess: Contador-Mollema-Pantano-Cardoso-Felline-Degenkolb-De Kort-Zubeldia At Val.Piti: Whatever you say. I'm not even referring to this...

I'm always amazed at how those who don't like Alberto - looking at you Val.Piti and DFA123 (don't matter if you claim otherwise) - come here with such authority and comment things as if they're gospel. Seriously, it's frustrating reading the same thing from you guys over and over again...

Re: Re: I see your points and I agree. Sagan has to do really well in Eneco Tour to close the gap to Movistar. I don't feel Majka or Kreuziger have better chances than Alberto in Lombardia. Majka had troubles in Quebec and Kreuziger has been complaning on twitter that he's feeling tired. With...

Re: Alberto confirmed on an interview he'll be riding Lombardia because Tinkoff wants to earn points for the UCI team world tour. LaFlorecita, Alberto's main objectives of the season were always Tour and Olympics. Vuelta was an option because as I've been saying in the past Tinkoff wants to...

Re: Re: If you say so but he wanted to end his season at the Olympics. Unable to ride them, he had to ride Vuelta. He wasn't in the conditions to ride the race, not in his state.

This thread should start to go into hibernation soon considering it's finally over with Tinkoff unless they force him to ride Lombardia like they did with the Vuelta.

@DFA123 Uh no! It's not a guess,it's a fact. At this point in the game there's no use in talking about what's already done. If you say the result would've been the same fine but I feel it would've been different. But you're right in your last sentence which is why he's loyal to riding a 54x11.

Re: Re: First of all, Alberto loves to ride a 54x11 for when it comes to TTs. He's done the same mistake in the past. It's not the first time he rides TTs with a wrong gear. There's no need for a link when you know what gear he'll use. His rivals gears were reported on Twitter by a Spanish...

The secret was all in the gear, unfortunately Alberto rode with the wrong one and gave away precious time.

The answer is pretty simple, really. Don't know why you're trying to make it a big deal Valv.Piti

Re: As LaFlorecita says, he didn't expect to ride the Tour in 2011. I knew what you were trying to say, I was just amazed at your certainty in claiming he knew he was going to ride the Tour while riding the Giro. Basically says he was forced to go to the Tour by the sponsor 10 days before the...

@ Carols: It is easy for words to get lost in translation. Already read a couple of tweets were people are acting as if he's lying when it was the doctor who said he needs the four weeks of recovery. And some of them where even from Spanish speaking people! So it's all good! :)
