A few years ago we rode up it on MTBs and it was steep ! It's quite loose and not smooth, like Strade Bianche is smooth, so would not really go.

I saw the Tour of Britain/Kellogs/Pru Tour in Dundee and Stirling. One year they went up the Loch Lomond road past Luss. It has been done before so can happen again. Maybe a 5 day Tour de Ecosse ? Event Scotland/SNP would certainly help.

I was at a 10% bit of Ax last time the TDF finished there and will be again this year. Last time Ullrich attacked on the Pailheres, it's a tough descent and you are straight into the Ax climb. It will be hot and it's a long stage, should be good.

I think ASO will let them in, I know they originally did not. But, there is bound to be a dopage scandal from a team that is then banned from entering the Vuelta.

His belly looks bigger than the Paris Nice race last year but he looks on better form than last year at this time and has raced well. Should be a good tour, I'll be watching the Pyrenees stages, probably the Summit finish day at Ax, staying at the base again, like in 2005. Pity the Shlecks...
