Teams & Riders Alberto Contador Discussion Thread

'Acid' in the legs have nothing to do with it. Exercise science has disproved the lactic acid myth. More likely he was fatigued from tears in microfibers.

    Vuelta a Andalucia (Ruta Del Sol) 2.HC // 18.2 - 22.2

This is 100% true. I enjoyed watching Contador up until I started reading the forums in about 2012. However, the outrageous hero worship over every little thing he does or says makes it hard to be a fan. Add that to baseless hate of riders like Froome- why, because he stem-stares and...

    Vuelta a Andalucia (Ruta Del Sol) 2.HC // 18.2 - 22.2

Que the Contador fanboys as they start the excuses. Fact: Contador was better yesterday and Froome was better today. This should be a great season.

    What Should Froome do?

I'm not discounting the importance of the important races beside the Tour. That is why I voted Froome should do the Giro-Tour. But he MUST do the Tour. Indurain, Hinault, Merckx, Anquetil are known because of their exceptional palmares across the board. Nevertheless, the first thing on their...

    What Should Froome do?

It's true, the competition makes it very hard for Froome to win any GT he enters. The point I was trying to make with the age is that Froomie is no spring chicken. Because he had such a meteoric rise to the top of the cycling world, many people forget he is 29. It's reasonable to assume he...

    What Should Froome do?

I'm not saying it is possible; I'm only saying that it is reasonable to assume Froome's goal as a cyclist is to be considered one of the best of all time. Therefore he should ride the races that would create that legacy.

    Purito - Joaquim Rodriguez thread

It's not about winning? Stage wins over the GC? I'm fairly certain any rider at Purito's level that has NEVER won a GT would much rather go for the overall as opposed to stages. He went for stages at the Tour this year...grand total of zero. Oh, and lost the polka dot jersey. He can't use...

    Who wins the 2015 Giro?

I'd love to see Froome vs. Contador in top shape at the Giro. If Nibs shows up too, it'd be Christmas in May. Out of those three, it'd be a toss up.

    Purito - Joaquim Rodriguez thread

He's 35 years old. Him winning the Giro against AC and the likes seems far fetched. This course suits him more than any Tour course in recent memory. Since he is known for never winning A Big One (never mind THE Big One), he should be all in for this race.

    What Should Froome do?

Here's the thing... Froome is 29 years old. He has only been riding near the top since Vuelta 2011. How many years does he have to create a reputation as one of the best GT riders of all time? (assuming that is his goal) Like it or not, the Tour is THE race in cycling. To make yourself a...
