Question Should triathletes be allowed on bikes?

Corollary: Should NBA players be allowed on golf courses? Charles Barkley? Yes, because middling golfers need something to laugh at. Steph Curry? No, because he makes middling golfers feel bad.

Question Should triathletes be allowed on bikes?

Re: They're arm coolers, nor warmers. Keep uv rays off arms - crucial, it seems, when doing ironman in the sun. I've taken to wearing them on road rides, as 30+ years of riding has damaged the skin a bit, even with sunscreen.

    Oakley Friends W/LeMond Again?

His infamous knee problems were a result of steroid use. Fignon too. Steroids were a very blunt instrument for performance enhancement. You got short term gain, but long term use led to joint problems, liver problems, and a number of other nasty problems.

Are you frustrated with the fame sprinters have?

While I find the sprinters' speed and power impressive, and I appreciate that it takes nerves of steel, I find the flat, sprinter stages boring. For me, especially in a GT, they are nothing more than respite before the real action takes place in the mountain stages and the TTs. They serve a...

Lemond's Legacy: How Lemond Changed Cycling

LeMond gapped him on the last climb, and then did a lot of the work pulling back riders that jumped off the front of their final group. Then, of course, he won the sprint. LeMond was a cautious rider, not a wheel sucker. Generally, he conserved his energy until the right time to make a move. The...

Lemond's Legacy: How Lemond Changed Cycling

Not to mention Chambery 1989, when LeMond rode Fignon off his wheel repeatedly, in the rain, and when LeMond had a broken wheel himself.

Teams & Riders Froome Talk Only

Yep. Lance was the same. He'd win every time trial in the tour, and then could barely manage 3rd in the Olympics:rolleyes: He didn't care, and he didn't want to get caught.

Question Should triathletes be allowed on bikes?

Hey look, it's page 1000 and the same circle jerk of ill will is still going strong. "Hey it's just good clean fun." How you all are still entertained by another instance of some guy who has his shorts on backwards is beyond belief. Oh, I'm sorry, hahahhahahahhahahahah!!! You're right it's...

Question Should triathletes be allowed on bikes?

Oh please. Except when one person defends triathletes, and perhaps takes a shot at roadies in the process, a maelstrom of responses ensues. Then the 6 or 7 posters with seemingly no life responsibilities go screaming off to slowtwitch to look for new material and make themselves feel better...

Question Should triathletes be allowed on bikes?

:confused:Right, some of my best friends are tri geeks... No need to go on a bender to justify your comments here. I got it. "used to be one so I can trash them." When you're being oh so charitable to fellow cyclists by talking to them, are you also quick to admit that you love trashing...

Question Should triathletes be allowed on bikes?

Who nevertheless enjoys trashing triathletes, many of whom are also crazy fit and are also runners  Here's a basic thing that tri-trashers here don't seem to quite comprehend. Bike racing and triathlon are different sports - with different rules and different skill sets. You all...

Question Should triathletes be allowed on bikes?

Unfit "cyclist" who got passed by his 1, 2, 3, and 4 minute men at the last time trial he did. His response(s) gives that away. Rationalization strategy: reclassify strength on the bike so as not to be part of the "cyclist" skill set. Better strategy: get more fit. This will require work...
