    Are you a Vegetarian?

Only just noticed, sorry. I can't eat any pulses/lentils/beans, most grains, and have to be careful with dairy, (also apples and onions!). I also don't do peanuts (not allergic - just hate the taste). I can eat tofu. Now I pretty much tend to stick to meat/tofu and vegetables for most meals or...

    Helmuts suck

1/3 of cyclists killed in my country are illegally not wearing helmets. People that don't wear them are essentially organ donors in waiting. If you're talking about style they're about 100 times better than they were in the 80s. And yeah I am angry about people suggesting that they don't do...

What separates the good from the great?

I think the mental stuff can be important but seriously I bet the guy who comes second truely believed he was going to win too. I tend to believe that genetics are probably the most important thing. Yeah you can have someone with the right physiology that doesn't seem to want to perform but...

    Helmuts suck

How would you feel if one of your kids refused because some pro rider didn't wear one. Serious who cares what it looks like, it's just stupid not to wear it. Have you ever crashed and seen your helmet broken and then thought - that could have been my skull? You don't have to hit it at speed you...

    Helmuts suck

They may be going slightly slower but it's still possible for them to crash (a la Armstrong on Luz Ardidenne - I know I spelt that wrong), hit their head and die from the injuries on a mountaintop finish. I was actually just admiring the catlike ones Cervelo wore in the TTT.

    Garmin BEATS Astana!

Gotta say it, I'm not surprised - they are TT specialists that set out to win this stage... If they started to win every stage then I'd start to wonder. Gotta say it, I reckon Pettachi was probably clean too. I also don't think he was intentionally doping when he tested + for his asthma meds...

    Official thread: Giro d'Italia

Ha, I love that Pettachi beat Cav today, but Cav was really good about it saying he's glad he was beaten by Pettachi. Would love to see someone like Davis or Hunter beat him tomorrow!! Not that I don't like him, it's just boring watching the same guy win everything, and it'll be good for his ego...

    Official thread: Giro d'Italia

LOL, well obviously he does! Not sure I'd agree with the Californians all speak Spanish though, when I lived there hardly any of my friends and colleagues could speak it unless they were latino! Just because it's offered in school doesn't mean you end up fluent.

WHAT ARE THE MENTAL IMPACTS of doping?

Do you think that might have more to do with their attitude of denial or maybe they weren't well liked or something? It seems to be the same with Vino, everyone seems to hate him now and be appauled that he'd consider a comeback, but other riders seem to be welcomed back with open arms. The...

    Official thread: Giro d'Italia

Lance says in It's not about the bike that he can speak some Italian, French, Spanish and even Dutch if he had to. In fact he used to live near Lake Como. Levi, Carlos and Denis all speak English okay not sure about Damiano though!

    Official thread: Giro d'Italia

Yeah it's like when Brad McGee said he was going to be a GT rider... What Escarabarjo said about watts - totally true and Cancellara does tend to finish at least that far behind on mountain stages in tours. He can do the odd one or two day effort but if he starts winning GTs I'm going to be...

Why do I ride so lousy after a tour?

+1 to everything others have said, definately sounds like you need a better base, but you should look into recovery techniques too. There is a thread on recovery here somewhere, try looking at that. Also, I wasn't sure what you meant by non-racers, are you saying you don't race then go and do a...

podcast of the year. lemond is class and real.

Wow, only just listened to this recently and I really liked his discussion. Not really surprised I guess but great all the same. He's a great speaker. I passed it on to some friends who aren't on this forum (that I know of).

What riders and teams do you trust?

I have no problem with doping comments being on a doping topic like this one but when they get made on other topics in future they're getting reported. Yeah, he is negative and I have to wonder why some like that's on a cycling forum when all they seem to want to do is pay out the sport? Back...
