    2011 Vuelta a España Stage 17: Faustino V --> Peña Cabarga 211,0 km

    It is incredibly important. Dan Martin was born in Britain so when he does well he's British despite choosing to ride for Ireland. Chris Froome however has chosen to ride for GB so despite being born in Kenya, when he does well he too is British. You get it in other sports too. When Andy...

    2011 Vuelta a España Stage 17: Faustino V --> Peña Cabarga 211,0 km

    Do Sky have anyone in their team other than Froome and Wiggins? It's not rocket science to try to get someone in the break today.

    Great "unknown" climbs

    The climb up the other side would be possible but only on an MTB. pretty rough in places. at the end of September last year there was still a fair bit of snow on the top :cool:

    Great "unknown" climbs

    That's what i was thinking. I cant find a profile of the climb from Arrieta to Tabayasco but it is 10km at about 5.5%. nothing too serious but at just the right gradient for me. very nice.

    Great "unknown" climbs

    Cheddar gorge is lovely but it's not really much of a climb. they used it for the national hillclimb 4 or 5 years ago and people were doing on TT bikes (like they will this year...) I'm not sure if this has been done recently, but if the Vuelta could do the climb to Sierra Navada and then...

    Do you race on the road?

    I do a fair bit but living in France makes it a hassle. i mostly go back to the UK for the odd TT or race. The French system of licencing makes the UK one look simple and easy.

    Worlds and Tour Champion is that a big deal?

    I think what it comes down to is that Evans is not really a great BUT he can now be happy that he has performed to his best. If you told him 2 years ago he could retire with a world championship and a TDF he'd have bitten your arm off. If 2 years ago you'd told him he'd retire with neither...

    2011 Tour de France Stage 18 - Pinerolo - Galibier Serre-Chevalier 200.5km

    Is Andy riding himself towards the polka dot? if he wins today he'll be right up there :D

    The toughness of the Giro is an RCS policy, not Zomegnan's

    I love the idea of a downhill TT but it isn't going to happen. In 1987 there was one in stage 1b of the Giro from Poggio de San Remo down into San Remo itself. The hill was not too bad, 4km @3.8% followed by 4km on the flat and even then you had Stephen Roche complaining: I took care on the...
