Looking for a new bike that I can take on a 5000km fully laden tour during May, then convert to being a 'cross racer from June. Been looking at the Stevens Cyclocross 105. Anyone got experience with it? Any thoughts or opinions? Thanks!

I've ridden it. It is great fun, but I think driving it would drive me nuts. After almost every stage there are huge traffic jams as people all try to cram onto narrow little roads to get to the next place. If I was going to do it on anything other than a bicycle, it would be a motor bike...

I'm a cyclist, but I also do triathlons sometimes. I moved cities a while ago, and didn't know anyone in the new city to train with, so I started riding with the local tri club. I run with them and swim with them too and that is fine (except now that I have read about what they do in pools...

Never thought about it like that, but I guess I see your point that as the leader you shouldn't be doing too much time in the wind. I think today things like the hail probably also contributed though...

Another question, does anyone know about road closures for the Giro? I know for Tour de France the roads are often closed to everyone who isn't accredited for several hours at a time, but at the Vuelta last year there were times when I was able to ride until the peleton was only a few minutes...

I'm trying to work out what time of day the stages of the 2013 Giro will be planned to finish. I am sure it will be calculated to fit in with TV schedules etc, but am just wondering what that means. 5pm? 6pm? Or are they running night time stages? If anyone knows anything I would greatly...

I am fine with guys standing beside the road dressed as a devil or a chicken or whatever they want, and fine with them running beside the road. The problem is when they are either trying to interfere with riders (like with Nys) or just so stupid that they do it by mistake (like with Guerini) or...

I sure hope you got to Mirador de Ézaro by the way. That was one of the toughest hills I have ever gone up with a bike (would say ridden, but to be fair I walked a few bits - it isn't easy with the panniers!) and also one of the most exciting finishes I have seen. Absolutely brilliant!

It always depends what your interests are. The TT is probably a bit early in the race to be really exciting. The guys who are needing a big TT gap will give it everything as it is their only chance, but the chances are that everything will change a lot from that point onwards. Stage 14 to...
