In fairness, Vaughters probably also belongs in that category and so might Hesjedal (we may not have known about it until Chicken outed him but he had already fessed up to the authorities of his own volition). Fignon might be another perhaps? But I agree, there aren't many.

    Tour de l'Avenir 2013 (N.Cup)

Ewan's future McGee is Caleb's coach & mentor and has been for a wee while. OGE and Sky have both expressed an interest in Ewan. He has trained with both teams in the last 12 months and they have given him equipment etc. McGee wants to keep Ewan away from the glare of a pro road contract...

2013 Australian National Championships: Men's Road Race, 195.6km

Agree with this - why not form some alliances? Asking some of my part-timer mates at GPM Wilson to take it up is a bit embarrassing frankly. But, that said, podium is all under 25. The future is bright: watch out Europe.

2013 Australian National Championships: Men's Road Race, 195.6km

Durbridge wins alone. Very impressive. Matthews takes sprint for 2nd, Steele von Hoff for 3rd. 1st time ever for a rider to win TT and Road Race in the elite men Aussie champs. It is a bit of a shame that one team dominates the line-up so much that no one else really chases - spoilt the race a...

2013 Australian National Championships: Men's Road Race, 195.6km

Agree about the race. Saluting Durbridge though - 2.20 to peloton, 1 lap to go. Bit sad that Sulzberger is likely to be caught. Really gutsy ride from a guy that has got so much bad luck in his career.

2013 Australian National Championships: Men's Road Race, 195.6km

Looks about 30 max? Durbo alone now. Hard to see him not winning now or perhaps one of the 5-6 chasers, no? 3 mins to peloton. Incredible ride.

Follow up - Simon Clarke in that chase group too.

2013 Australian National Championships: Men's Road Race, 195.6km

Durbridge attacked the breakaway. Not working yet. These three could stay away I reckon but they're playing silly ******s. The peloton not urgent enough consistently enough - riders will need to come across. Hayman, T Meyer, Dennis trying to get across to Bobridge - that chase group could get to...

2013 Australian National Championships: Men's Road Race, 195.6km

Bobridge now on the attack. Baden Cooke marking him. A big gap to close to the leading three. Gap now 4.03.

2013 Australian National Championships: Men's Road Race, 195.6km

Porte lights it up on the climb. Peloton in pieces now.

2013 Australian National Championships: Men's Road Race, 195.6km

Why would they? Anyway, things starting to happen now - gap is still over 5 mins but breakaway is down to 3 (Durbridge, Shaw, Sulzberger). Will Clarke attacked from peloton. Hepburn OGE marking him.

2013 Australian National Championships: Men's Road Race, 195.6km

Break has exploded - only 5 left after the most recent climb. Durbridge, Sulzberger, Shaw, Windsor, Szolosi (last two are only hanging on). 55kms to go. Last info was 5min gap to peloton.

2013 Australian National Championships: Men's Road Race, 195.6km

Gap is 5.20 to peloton. Breakaway of 7 about to reduce to 6. Durbridge, Sulzberger, Shaw, Windsor, Bayly, Szol someone looking pretty organised. Mowatt about to be dropped up the climb. Peloton still cruising although bigger names coming to the front - Will Clarke, Porte, Wurf, Brown at the...
