Teams & Riders The Remco Evenepoel is the next Eddy Merckx thread

I'm so glad he's not going to the Dauphine. The man has a big ego, with the belief that he can win a race, until he's actually in the race, and gets dropped again and again and again. He simply can't get up those hills with the elite boys. Usually in these stage races he has a 20km ITT which...

Giro d'Italia Giro d'Italia 2026 Route: Speculation, Rumours and Announcements

Yes.... to reduce possibility of stage cancellations I imagine.

    GC Power Ranking

Thankfully we see GC ranking discussions and people are now happy to omit Remco from the top 5. This is a part of reducing the pressure on him.

Giro d'Italia Giro d'Italia 2026 Route: Speculation, Rumours and Announcements

Yes, that is the only stage that goes above 2000m. The rest of the hard mountain stages rarely go over 1700m. Probably we will see more of this. Less high elevation in the Giro due to cancellations in recent years.

    Tadej Pogacar and Mauro Giannetti

Just tuned into the highlights of today's stage. My goodness. Pogacar breezes past Godon (who is a decent sprinter this year) in the sprint. The image at the end of the highlights shows Pogacar crossing the line with his arm raised, smiling, and mouth closed. A bunch sprint effort should...

Nice to see this version of Tadej. Kind with his pacing on the climb. Allowing a few to hang with him and be in the action photo for the sprint finish whilst still beating them. A more benevolent creature emerges from his spring classic feast.

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

Are we seeing a decline in Pogacar? Lost 7 seconds in a 3km prologue. I suppose his demise is inevitable.

Maybe Patrick Lefevre was right all along. Not investing a huge amount into Remco's GT aspirations. Perhaps he knew all along that one day races were more suited to him.

    Lesser known races 2026 edition

Have to hand it to the Tour of Turkey. They have pulled out some serious climbs over the last few years. Kiran is back on the route this year. 9km at 10% gradient. They have another monster on the route 21km @8% gradient. Harder than Ventoux. And let's not forget the beast that was Babadag...

Why do you blindly defend Remco so much?

His 2 Liege wins and ORR were achieved without Pogacar being present or crashing out.

Teams & Riders The Remco Evenepoel is the next Eddy Merckx thread

It appears now that Remco will just not win a race with Tadej Pogacar in it. Maybe Seixas is on the trajectory of surpassing him permanently too but I still think Remco on a good day can get the better of this version of Seixas. With that in mind, I think Remco should target some races he would...
