We've seen a lot of annoyance with this route. Especially with Remco fans who yearn for more ITT kms. Here's an alternative scenario, even on this route, let's say Pogacar and Jonas didn't go to the Tour in 2026, would Remco be able to win it? Would he be able to fight off Almeida, Ayuso or...

Complaints about the route have kinda dried up. I think there is a resignation that no matter what route we get, Pog will still win. I think supporters would actually prefer a less hard route, with more ITTs. It is really the only feasible way in which things might be close.

During the 2000s, the Giro got plaudits for introducing mountainous routes. The Tour, in comparison with 8/9 sprint stages appeared to look bland. The opinions have come full circle now, with clamour for less mountains and a variety of stages, including a couple of decent length TTs.

He needs two long time trials at least with some gentler climbs. He'll lose minutes on some of the rumoured MTFs. Plateau de Solaison is not for him.

One thing is for certain. This will not be a route for Remco Evenepoel. I hope he prioritises the Giro or Vuelta. Hopefully one of them will have a route that will suit him.

He can do it. He will need to target 2 in the same year. Tour-Vuelta. Or perhaps even a Giro-Vuelta. Although I can't envisage a Tour without Pogi there.

If he wants to get 11GTs he'll need to target a couple of Vueltas. Handy enough to pick up a title there. I think he can get 6 Tours.

Merckx has 5 Tours, 5 Giros and 1 Vuelta. Pogacar has 4 Tours, 1 Giro and 0 Vueltas. Still a bit of ground for Pogi to make up. Is there any race that Pogacar is ahead of Merckx on?? Monuments for example..... not the UAE Tour😬
