It feels good to let loose, doesn’t it?

Haven't you frequently made the point that watts are rising for everyone so you shouldn't assume that if you drop rider A into a different era they carry their same watts, but it's instead more likely that they would adjust down relative to the era? And vice versa. Like surely if you put pre-ban...

Amstel Gold Race 2026, April 19

I was putting them into tiers with each race tied with the other races in the tiers, but I screwed up the numbering anyways, so I'll force myself to take a stand and edit the list.

Amstel Gold Race 2026, April 19

This. I am not a cycling historian, but the way I have always interpreted them from across the pond is: 1. World Championship RR 2. Paris-Roubaix 3. RVV 4. Milan San Remo 5. LBL 6. IL 7. SB 8. AGR 9. FW 10. GW 11. E3 Or something like that. I'm sure you guys will tell me I'm very wrong...

Teams & Riders The Big 6

Dropping Pogacar uphill in Paris on what was, I would guess, the most watched bike race in 2025 last year (correct me if I'm wrong; I didn't look this up), beating Pogacar head-to-head in Paris-Roubaix, ending his streak of 4 Monuments in a row... If Roglic is out due to lack of recent wins, I...

Of course we can’t say. It was more of a vibes post than a scientific one to be honest. He really should have won 2020 Olympic gold, too. Carapaz the knave stole that one (not begrudging him that; I miss when he was strong enough to convert his wily aggression into big wins). It’s all just...

I notice you ignored the 3 horrific crashes and the potential impact on his development vs MVDP

Rough Attempt at an All-Time Ranking

If I’m thinking about this right, Wout is now 1 point back from Vingegaard at 51

He’s had at least 3 bad crashes that resulted in near career ending injuries, he’s had some poorly timed mechanicals, he missed the cobbles season one year due to Covid, and he’s had to deal with Pogacar. In previous eras, Pogacar would have stuck to his lane.

Yes it is good to see. If his palmares truly reflected his level and talent, he'd have 5+ Monuments by now.

Wow and MVdP was only 19 seconds back with 54km to go. I cannot believe he didn’t make it back!

Watching part of the race I missed on Sunday now. If I didn’t know better, when there were 65km to go and Wout was 30 seconds back or Pogacar and MVDP just 35 seconds back from him in a group of 20, then Pogacar attacked the cobbles at 64km, it sure seemed hopeless for him. Did anyone figure out...

Teams & Riders The Remco Evenepoel is the next Eddy Merckx thread

No I agree. If Remco looks good at AGR I expect him to be between Seixas and Pogi

Teams & Riders The Remco Evenepoel is the next Eddy Merckx thread

What does the competition look like in AGR? Edit: NVM, saw your thread. Looks like Pidcock, Healy, Skjelmose. Pidcock seems like the biggest threat but Remco should win this. And I agree that if he does not, LBL is unlikely barring misfortune for Pogi and Seixas. I am very confident he will do...

    Paris-Roubaix 2026, one day monument, April 12

Some surprising takes on here. A guy wins the fastest P-R in history, has multiple mechanicals, looks strong AF, never falters, launches multiple attacks, plays it perfectly, and wins without any indication that he was at his limit, and this is what some have to say? Wout has had some monstrous...
