Do you race on the road?

Should ask 'race what'? This is in the road forum, so assuming that, but many of us will race more than one area... I'll so some road (mainly crits) but am much more fond of racing the track, and CX is a hoot. =)

What is the Campagnolo neutron ultra rim weight?

Or, the spoke nipples begin to burst through the rim, as happened to me with a 24h A340 rim.. Stan's said i should be riding a 32h. Low and behold, a week later, the 32h i had did the exact same thing. This rim was a real bomb. =( Don't get me wrong, i love Stan's - their MTB rims/wheels are...

    Bottle with easy-to-open valve?

Specialized also has these 'high flow' valves, they're actually really great, been pretty happy with them, and you can leave them 'open' as well. Kind of similar to the Camelbak.

29ers on the podiums more and more?

I love the remarks from people who have barely ridden 29ers.. There's a bit of a learning curve (especially for those with bad attitudes), but the wheelbase on the race bikes is getting pretty close to 26", and so comments like 'doesn't corner as well' really don't make sense (it's not like...

    Carbon Frames, not always best

I wonder if there'd be less pile-ups if people could brake better, and more predictably...? Chicken, meet egg...

    Carbon Frames, not always best

I think mainly weight savings, but on the rear, it's easy to lock up either way. I never noticed a difference from dual to single.

    Carbon Frames, not always best

I think there may be a valid point with braking on CARBON surfaces, but for sure the brakes themselves are more than sufficient - i can lock my Record Skeleton (dual-pivot front, single rear) whenever i want. Even in the wet - on alloy rims. (Haven't ridden carbon, so can't comment.) Braking...

Wrapping wing type bars - full or half?

Same here - full wrap. Much more comfy, although bare carbon beats the pants off bare alloy, between those two.

    One eighth V 3/32 chains

You can usually fit a wider chain on a narrower cog, so yes, you should be fine.

If you could have any of the TDF team bikes...

And no Ridley Noahs...! As an owner of a Noah, even more excited for the new model. =)

Testing the use of short cranks

The guys typically putting out the most watts are track sprinters...what length cranks do they use?

Why are some Pro's so appalling at time trialling?

Outside of the 'pro' realm, it's interesting to see how local riders do in various disciplines... There are several cases of riders who slay me on the MTB (my technical skills aren't THAT bad), but in the local TT, the roles seem reversed. In this case, i think it's mind over matter. On the...

    Andrew Talansky (garmin) going vegetarian

Anyone who says 'true protein' simply does not understand nutrition. I'm not going to bother delving into the 'health benefits' argument, but the simple fact of the matter is that we can eat vegan, and attain all the nutrients we need. (I've been testing this for over 20yrs.) This is a...

Study on the usefulness of a power over other metrics

HR doesn't tell us much? Crikey... Makes me wonder why it was ever used in the first place! /sarcasm It's probably not terribly useful in a race scenario, but HR is still essential for training. One simple example is response to intervals. If HR is too low during the effort (and recovery...
