Teams & Riders Tom Dumoulin discussion thread

Evans was usually better TT-er than Contador. Quintana was pretty good TT-er during his best years. Pantani and van Impe were good TT-ers during their GT wins. In 1998 TdF Pantani was 3rd in second long TT. Without a few exceptions, GT winners have always been very good in both departments...

    Future GT Winner (Edition 2018)

I am a bit surprised why are all so sure about Bernal and so few votes for Landa. Whats talking for Bernal? Youth?

    Transfers and Rumours 2018 > 2019

Re: Re: He rode a half Giro in 2017 as the captain, more or less. Along with the Tour this year, those are the two GTs he has ridden since 2016. And as we both pointed out, there is absolutely no point in doing domestique work for a rider who loses +4 minutes on the first mountain stages. Your...

Teams & Riders Nairo Quintana discussion thread

Re: Re: Nonsense. Quintana is only rider in recent years who has shown he can climb on par with Froome. Today he showed what a nonsense is "Movistar has three leaders" talk. He is very consistent and delivered a lot. Who else can be Movistar's leader?

    Pre Tour de France-thread

Re: When it really gets tough in the mountains, it means Sky or Movistar are making race. Mabye Bahrain too. After these Astana, Ag2R and BMC are quite equal, cannot see that ayone can help their leaders much when it gets really tough. Same applies to Ag2R and BMC, good, but not great. Not...

The greatest classic rider of the 21st century

Re: Re: Yes he did a solo...against Sebastian Turgot. And Cancellara did against who? By number of wins Boonen is better classics rider, but In 20-30 years time nobody remembers (and cares) who had more wins. They both had plenty. But if talking about quality, I bet that people will remember...

Who's the most aesthetically pleasing rider?

Until 2006, Basso was cool to watch(though his upper body started rocking a bit on very steep stuff), especially Was he ever out of the saddle? Contador and Schleck climbing. Wiggins TTing. Indurain, very smooth.

Teams & Riders Nairo Quintana discussion thread

Re: Rubbish. - Quintana is very consistent. Rujano was able to win MTF with 2 minutes, to loose next day MTF with 2 minutes. I have seen Contador, Nibali, Froome in trouble or even close to bonking (not to mention second tier GT riders who almost always have at least "one bad day"), but not...

Teams & Riders Chris Froome Discussion Thread.

Re: Re: I still doubt that Pais Vasco is their main goal in the spring. For Rodriquez main goals are classics and he has more often raced PN, TA and Catalunya than Pais Vasco. Contador seems to like Pais Vasco, but from his past interviews I remember that PN was the most import race in the...

Rank 1-4: Boonen, Cancellara, Contador & Valverde

Valverdes Vuelta win was not very impressive either. Very much Valverede style: did not win a stage, did not force a selection, sucked wheels and sprinted for boni seconds + benefited from others bad luck (Gesink injury, Evans puncture etc).

    40th Giro del Trentino 19.04 - 22.04

Re: Re: Couple of years ago Kangert gave na interview where he was asked specifically about language in Astana. He speaks English and French and in Astana had learned few (racing related) phrases of Italian, though he admitted that he tries to learn more italian (so, if he now gives...

2015 Vuelta stage 8: Puebla de Don Fad.- Murcia (182.5 km)

Re: 2015 Vuelta stage 8: Puebla de Don Fad.- Murcia (182.5 k It is pointless to argue with Libertine about Sagan. Libertine just does not like Sagan and has heavy bias against him.
