Commentary on TNT and other WB brands

I'm in Canada watching Sports Net and this year they are broadcasting the Vuelta with NBC Universal Sports and Todd Gogulski doing commentary. Steve Schlanger, his partner, can be a bit over the top but I'll take him over Kirby.

Commentary on TNT and other WB brands

Amen. I'm very happy I don't have to listen to Kirby this Vuelta. I am still thinking of the Giro when he would not shut up about Kittel's teeth and how he should use some tooth whitener. I don't care about gossipy, malicious comments like this. Stick to the topic of racing.

    GoGo!

Hooray! Todd Gogulski is doing commentary where I live. He is very knowledgable and I find I learn a lot after spending 21days listening to him. No Steve Schlanger this year. I like this other guy better. Can't recall his name.

Watch Vuelta on TV in UK

Hi everyone, The wife and I will be in the UK for half the Vuelta and we're wondering if we would be lucky to see any tv coverage in the evening? We won't be able to watch any live afternoon coverage because we will be out and about doing touristy things. I will remind myself next time to...

    Watching Tour of Britain, Wales

My family will be in Wales in time for stage 2 or 3 of the Tour of Britain. Any advice about watching on The Tumble? We are not from the UK, so do not know the area. As well, how early to arrive for a good spot? And where would be a prime location to watch?

    Newbie question on breakaways

More great answers .. thanks! We will be watching for these tactics in La Vuelta. Sometimes the commentators do a good job explaining what is happening and sometimes they don't! When you are new to the sport, it can be very confusing.

    Newbie question on breakaways

Yes, this makes sense. Thank you scirocco (and orangey too). Scirocco, it was your second answer that I was looking for. Although it seems that I have rarely seen a race where the guy out in the break stays out front AND his leader then manages to join him. I guess I have not watched enough...

    Newbie question on breakaways

Hi all, my husband and I are somewhat new to the sport of cycling. A family member who cycles introduced us to it and we are really loving it. However, we cannot figure out something about the breakaway. When the commentators mention that a cyclist is in the break, they usually say that this is...

    30 for 30 - Slaying the Badger

I watched the film from the YouTube link and enjoyed it very much. I thought Hinault came across as a crazy, egotistical ***.

Peloton faves & foes: Colours. Mast. Nail.

Something like this would make me laugh. He's doing this to entertain the crowd. Lighten up, Sagan haters. :D

    explain stage 16 on giro

I'm so sorry I brought this up. But the first few answers were good enough for me. I now understand the issue. Thanks for clearing this up.

    ever been to the Tour?

Now that sounds interesting. We were wondering about "tours" of Le Tour (or The Tour or whatever you want to call it ... the BIG race in France). I would imagine it would be expensive, but it sounds like a trip of a life time.

    ever been to the Tour?

The reason for the English commentary is that we are relatively new to watching the sport and we usually find it more interesting with some commentary explaining stuff to us.

    ever been to the Tour?

Has anyone any experience with attending the Tour De France as part of a vacation plan for France? Specifically, if you do not speak French and actually want to watch the races in a pub/bar somewhere (in English, obviously). My wife and I would like to go, but apart from experiencing the...
