    Horizon BBC2 30th Jan

There has been a fair bit of evidence to suggest that high intensity exercise is better for fat loss and keeps lean tissue more than longer duration easier exercise. It may also be of more benefit to type 2 diabetes patients by increasing insulin sensitivity more than lower intensity exercise...

    Horizon BBC2 30th Jan

I think I saw this same program about a year ago. It just goes to show that training for long durations is not always necessary for health and in many cases sports performance either. I'm glad it shows that due to genetics not everyone can increase VO2 easily, natural talent is so important...

    DAVID MILLAR and the B O A

Hi Joe, just out of interest was the reduction in body mass due to cortico steroids? Also I don't mean to sound silly here but did you or anyone you of whom you know of ever experience significant facial changes that could be attributed to PED use? Many here seem adamant that HGH will cause...

    Millar on BBC about doping

Hi Blackcat, thanks for responding. I am well aware of agromegaly and its some of its effects but that is very different to sharpening the brow line with exogenous HGH or the like. Although I am no expert in it by ANY means, I think it is more complex than just an excess of HGH though...

    Contador's head

Obviously because of years of doping no doubt, just ask Blackcat. :D

    Millar on BBC about doping

Blackcat, I know you have been about and have read this thread so how about answering the questions above relating to the "sharp brow ridges" doping connection. Once again looking forward to your reply thanks. :) WD

Me too. Where has blackcat gone to? Still love to hear his explanation to his cranial plates theory.

    Millar on BBC about doping

I think we are all very much still looking forward to your reply on why this is the case, blackcat. WD

    Millar on BBC about doping

Very true I for one have always known that people I see in the street with a sharp brow ridge are likely doping with "growth factors'. No doubt about it must be at least 15% of the population. I am being sarcastic of course and why is it that bodybuilders do not seem to have these "sharp brow...

If EPO is safe, why doesn't the human body naturally produce more?

You are quite right and I should have stated "significantly beyond breeding age". Obviously there is still much more relevant information that was not addressed in my previous post and could not be in a reply of that length. But the over all point is true. WD

If EPO is safe, why doesn't the human body naturally produce more?

I was meaning but forgot to state in my previous post that I am not particularly skinny these days at least at 5ft 11 and 84Kg, all muscle too. ;)

If EPO is safe, why doesn't the human body naturally produce more?

Very important point. It always amuses me that women (and men) very often are quick to criticize men who are skinny by saying things like they are "weak" or fragile or do not eat enough and must suffer from poor health because of not carrying a great deal of muscle mass, when the fact is that...

If EPO is safe, why doesn't the human body naturally produce more?

100% correct. Also 100% correct. 100% correct on the bolded point. Well I was expecting most of the replies to this topic to be of typical 'clinic quality' but it is nice to see that there are some great replies which hit the nail on the head spot on. :) Anyone who says that...

Chris Boardman and his 1996 Hour Record

Because he is British and has been outspoken against doping it seems highly unlikely that he had doped... As much respect I had for the guy as an athlete (lots) I am not convinced that he was clean at all. Most top riders did not test positive in those days and most did not admit...

Ah thanks, this could explain it.
