Maybe "better" than F.Shleck and S.Sanchez who have never won any GT, but weaker than B.Wiggins who won the biggest one of the GT. Menchov was a pretty good rider but couldn't do a real gap on TT (like Wiggins or Indurain), who allows him to win a TDF whithout being one of the top climber. So...

It is definitly a good time for Andy Shleck, top 15 (probably top 20 at the end...), it's a good performance for him, his usual performances on TT during the TDF are more or less of a same level...

Mancebo used to win some sprints (massprints, I don't remember...), just 2 riders after 3/4 min at almost 95% of their max isn't a proper sprint and mancebo didn't manage well (he took the last corner in front). But congrats to them to have put a bit of "spicy-taste" on that 1st stage.

The objective of all the team Sky mates (exept Wiggo), was to win the TDF as a team not as an individual rider (Wiggo's case), so did they win ? Yes, they won the TDF. As a member said, I dislike Team Sky as a team too, cause they're so dominant, they kill a good "script" before the race...

When you have earned over 2 Millions (+ the sponsoring contract) on a short period, you don't need to be very smart to insure yourself an easy live whithout working, you can buy easily 4/5 houses/flats (250.000€ each) that you rent, and every month a good salary he's going directly to your bank...

Quintana is really impressive, congrats to him for winning ahead two Sky-riders, which is pretty rare now.

Junior can already be a good indication, all the best pro (even the pro, or the best amateur...) were pretty good in Junior and most of the time in the national team. So globaly we can have an indication, while it's almost impossible to say "this guy will be an excellent pro in 6 years", cause...

Yes, it's why we have to study each case differently, a 10th place in a GT is most of the time thanks to a big breakaway, or a rider not very "active" but regular and who never had a "jour sans". On the paper, the 2nd of the Giro is far more better than the 10th of the Tour.

I wouldn't compare both performances cause they have been made in different situations, on different routes etc. In 2012 Purito has almost won the Giro + 2 stages + a jersey. Shleck's performance in 2007 was strong for a child, and I loved it but he wasn't very "active" although regular...
