    The Denis Menchov Thread

Maybe "better" than F.Shleck and S.Sanchez who have never won any GT, but weaker than B.Wiggins who won the biggest one of the GT. Menchov was a pretty good rider but couldn't do a real gap on TT (like Wiggins or Indurain), who allows him to win a TDF whithout being one of the top climber. So...

2013 Tour of California: Stage 6: San Jose TT (31 km)

It is definitly a good time for Andy Shleck, top 15 (probably top 20 at the end...), it's a good performance for him, his usual performances on TT during the TDF are more or less of a same level...

2013 Tour of California: Stage 1: Escondido - Escondido (165 km)

Mancebo used to win some sprints (massprints, I don't remember...), just 2 riders after 3/4 min at almost 95% of their max isn't a proper sprint and mancebo didn't manage well (he took the last corner in front). But congrats to them to have put a bit of "spicy-taste" on that 1st stage.

"The Secret Pro" on Katusha and doping

I think when he says "us" he meant "us as a pro-riders". I'm pretty sure it is Simon Gerrans... -Have raced several GT, World championships and classics -He is probably english-speaker (and Australian too, like the website...) -He raced the Tour down Under -He's in a world-tour team...

Poll of new era, second round

The objective of all the team Sky mates (exept Wiggo), was to win the TDF as a team not as an individual rider (Wiggo's case), so did they win ? Yes, they won the TDF. As a member said, I dislike Team Sky as a team too, cause they're so dominant, they kill a good "script" before the race...

Riccardo Ricco - what does he do 2013?

When you have earned over 2 Millions (+ the sponsoring contract) on a short period, you don't need to be very smart to insure yourself an easy live whithout working, you can buy easily 4/5 houses/flats (250.000€ each) that you rent, and every month a good salary he's going directly to your bank...

2013 Vuelta Ciclista al Pais Vasco, Stage 6 Beasain-Beasain 24 km ITT

Quintana is really impressive, congrats to him for winning ahead two Sky-riders, which is pretty rare now.

Junior racing - The stars of the future

Junior can already be a good indication, all the best pro (even the pro, or the best amateur...) were pretty good in Junior and most of the time in the national team. So globaly we can have an indication, while it's almost impossible to say "this guy will be an excellent pro in 6 years", cause...

Drunk, stupid, attention seeking fans. What to do?

Oh thanks, I didn't know the driver's name... Leif Hoste, Guerrini and co, it wasn't exactly the same problem than the one with Sven Nijs, here the drunk guy trew a beer on him, it's made with a real purpose (even if he was drunk).

Why Wiggins is not considered as an Englishman for some people ?

Top ten cyclists of all time which you have actually seen live

I really started to follow cycling in 2003, so I'll try to do my best for making up a list of my 10 best cyclist since that. 1. L.Armstrong, yes he doped, but the only cyclist in the history who never failed during his 7 objectives, TDF 1999 to 2005. 100%, nobody can say so. 2.Fabian...

Best Young Pro Tour Riders to watch in 2013

Yes, it's why we have to study each case differently, a 10th place in a GT is most of the time thanks to a big breakaway, or a rider not very "active" but regular and who never had a "jour sans". On the paper, the 2nd of the Giro is far more better than the 10th of the Tour.

Best Young Pro Tour Riders to watch in 2013

I wouldn't compare both performances cause they have been made in different situations, on different routes etc. In 2012 Purito has almost won the Giro + 2 stages + a jersey. Shleck's performance in 2007 was strong for a child, and I loved it but he wasn't very "active" although regular...
