    Future of Commuter Bikes

Some of those were downright embarrassing - they spent 4 minutes talking about how cool their city was and the incredible challenges they face riding their bikes and being so cool. Then the designs were solving problems that don't exist. I guess the right team won though.

Are you frustrated with the fame sprinters have?

easy solution is to simply limit grand tour teams to 6 riders

Lemond's Legacy: How Lemond Changed Cycling

LeMond was the first pro I can remember talking about frame stiffness. The predominant attitude prior to that was bottom bracket flex would just act like a spring. People were still racing noodle-ly Vitus 979 frames.

When did brake levers start creeping up the handlebar?

When did pros start angling up their shifters so that they now look like your dad's bike? 1992 2009 2015 (depiction)

Spidertech suspends racing for 2013 season

Totally bizarre. I would be surprised to see Spidertech in 2014.

    What Happens Next?

I suspect RadioShack is pulling out soon, maybe like tomorrow.

The Best Cyclist Of the Last 5 Years.

Boonen and Contador are the best classics and tour riders of this generation but I think Cancellara has some talents beyond any TT specialist before him. I've never seen anything quite like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JqHXuUbUUc

ArmstrongÂ’s 2008-12 samples point to blood doping.

i would have expected hematocrit to be much closer to 50%. Guess we're not living in the '90s.

Donkeys to racehorces. The effect of PEDs on cycling performance

There is this pattern of tall heavier riders with TT potential (Indurain, Riis, Ullrich) both losing weight and presumably doping to become TDF winners. Pantani is a notable exception, and the trend is not as clear in the rest of the top-10, or even other major tours. With the exception of...

2012 TD Bank Philadelphia International Championship

I like the crowd scene at Lemon Hill a lot more than the wall although I think the race should actually finish on top of the wall. Lemon Hill is quite tame. The "Fondo" concept is really ridiculous - these are public roads - although the local club riders seem eager to fork over whatever is...

    Todays idiot masters fattie doper

I've been watching Jamie Paolinetti's series "Race Day" and although I was entertained by this well done documentary, I have to say the idea of a professional masters team still seems kind of silly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWU_V_TrFj0 I am especially perplexed not by the motivation...

    Where is the vomit?

I think you might be right - perhaps there is something physiologically different about pros that allows them to tolerate very high titrations of lactic acid without inducing nausea and vomiting.

    Where is the vomit?

After these uphill finishes to the Ardennes classics I would expect to see a lot of vomit as riders redline well past their anaerobic threshold. And yet despite the hordes of photographers I cannot find a shot of a pro vomiting in the finish area. What gives?

    Cracked carbon Trek.

it still amazes me anyone would manufacture a mountain bike out of crabon fibré. The only thing more shocking is that someone would actually buy one.
