McQuaid is just a total bell-end.

To make that threat to JV then be left speaking to a room full of empty chairs.

It would be funny (OK it is) if it wasn't such a tragedy having such a complete loser and fool in charge of the sport we love...

I hate to have to side with McQuack, but I'm going to. Teams are just grand standing and I don't really think it's just about radios anymore.

Just work with UCI on the safety issue as per this quote from McQuack.

"The decision has been made. We've said many times that we're will willing to work on any aspect of communications that helps safety and is utilized for safety. But the UCI will not accept direct communication from team directors to riders."

You're too kind. ;)

Email from McQuaid to Vaughters:
"Enough to inform you that when I have finished with the teams today you will have plenty to "reflect" on and communication will be the furthest thing from your mind!!"

Wonder what this means.

Widely successful? Hardly.

Did you go to the races? Montreal had some fans but Quebec was kinda sad. little advertising sold. Both events were poorly promoted and hardly registered with the fans.

Not to mention that outside of those two FRENCH SPEAKING :) cities, the sport registers next to nowhere in the rest of the country.

i've heard from l'equipe that the pig is desperate.probably if the league will be created(and god i hope so),the pig will make public the biological passport violations of those teams.his last hope, the blackmail.the pig is gonna be stabbed this time.

tuttobici reporting too:

Thought yesterday:
Wouldn't be surprised to see some "positives" coming soon.
Of course Pat wouldn't do it too obvious.

But delivering Sinkewitz after Jens and Grischa did their open letters, was quiet a brilliant move. These two themselfes would have been too obvious, but that other German was a good "choice" to pay back in many ways.
After reading Pat's open letter and recognizing the undertone in it, I had no more questions. :D

Hey, but playing that bio-passport-card is also an option.

The safety issue was supposedly the team directors' primary concern and McQuaid called their bluff. IMO this only confirms that it was all about control and not safety.

The idea of giving control of the sport to money hungry people like JV anf Hog is too much to contemplate. I absolutely detest the manner in which the UCI has become a personal cash cow fro Verbruggen and McQuaid, but to give it to DS and one who has such a bad record with PEDs would kill the sport. If JV cared for the sport he would be going around the federations to get McQuaid kicked out and someone like Anne Gripper appointed. I dont trust Hog but at least we know what kind a person he is, i trust JV less.

A pro league would mean the richest teams win 99 times out of 100 and then they will have the money to end their weight to getting decisions to go in their favour.

The UCI needs a big overhaul the sooner the better for all.

No, we didn't, since we only saw some selected clips put into livecoverage.

Double your RAM. :D

Totally agree. Turning over the reins to JV and JB is like jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Suicide.

Try to work with McQuaid till his term is up or try to get him replaced with someone all can agree upon.

All the pettiness is not good for the sport.

I agree with the OP Race Radio they need to work together. McQuack is not providing good leadership. He's on a power hungry ego trip, just based on the following quote from Quackers to Vaughters:

In an email seen by Cyclingnews, McQuaid wrote to Vaughters:

"I have had enough of this High Moral Ground from you and I am refraining myself from writing exactly what I am thinking.

"Enough to inform you that when I have finished with the teams today you will have plenty to "reflect" on and communication will be the furthest thing from your mind!!”

That said, I'm not sure a breakaway organization of teams will work out. The UCI just might be better than that. Quackers just needs to be canned or just wait it out like Veganrob suggests.
