Technical descent, its twisty. Good views of the Eiger on a good day but it could be wet.

im afraid that mollema would be too kind to attack, i heard yesterday he let soler win as he felt sorry for him as he had not been winning for a long time. He also does not want his DS to make him the leader in the tdf so he is trying to keep a low profile. So that his good friend gesink could have all the glory. what a nice guy.

I think this one is for Kruisjwijk, Di Luca, Fuglsang and Cunego if the last 2 survive the climb. I think Soler will just about keep the lead.

Is solers descending really that bad. I think andy and frank have improved their descending over the past years.

Isn't the biggest question: where will Soler crash?

Let's not talk about Soler falling ok? Let's just act surprised if he falls :)

Cool stage again! Soler will reach the top of the climb with over a minute lead and wins the stage with half of that lead. Be careful Mauricio.

Different era. Different timegaps. Different juice ;)

Finest quality beetroot juice is hard to beet.:D

Not many folks prepared to stick their necks out with predictions.
Good descender or best sprinter from a very select group?

I think neither: Fränk Schleck FTW. Soler not far behind. Hopefully one of the Rabo boys (probably Kruijswijk) can stay reasonably close.

I expect a select group to get to the top, and the best sprinter dropping the rest in a good descend ;) Cunego, in other words.

its hard to tell where he will fall because none of us are really sure who Soler is. There are different points of view - some people like phil and paul say he is Neitzsche while Harmon swear that he is Socrates and others claimes that he is The Beast of Revalation... the list goes on. The only thing anyone can agree on is that Soler appeared stumbling out of an amazon forest some time in 2007 wearing barloworld cycling jerseys.

there will be the same contenders at the top of the climb, they need time on levi, mollema and van garderen.frank will attack hard, soler will follow...now imagine those two descending together because it will happen...
both di luca and cunego will come close.it will be an open race between these four until the last day.

The climb looks super hard.

First 7km @ 8.5%

Then 3 of the next 4km false flat with 1km @ 8.6%

With the final 5.4km @ 9.5%

I think it will split up, with no more than three together - I would say Soler and Big Schleck first over the top.

Di Luca hasn't been very consistent since his return, I wouldn't put him among the overall favourites just now.

'mon the FROOME!

It'll be interesting to see how he goes. He did well yesterday but his main problem has been consistency. He can perform well on one or 2 mountain stages but then bombs and loses loads of time (See the ToC as an example of that). That said, at the start of the year he said he was targetting this race.

If Froome can hang in there and get a top 10 at the end of the race (which will be some effort) then he could be in line for a suprise pick to the Sky TDF squad. There's a couple of places up for grabs with injury/illness to Cummings and Rogers an dhe could get one. He can do an OK TT (so should be good for the TTT) and can support Wiggins and Uran in some of the mountain stages.
