2013 Giro d'Italia Stage 12: Longarone → Treviso (134km)

It's only Stage 12, but for some sprinters this is the end of the 96th Giro d'Italia.

(Maybe the GC guys will go after the bonifications at that early intermediate sprint)

A stupidly technical finish so good positioning will be vital.

***** Cavendish
*** Bouhanni, Viviani
* The rest

Lets see what happens today?maybe another break will win?or possibly the chance for Cavendish to get another stage victory?I hope Weening or Phinney to get into a winning break.

yep, indeed, should be a good stage

btw, tomorrow is no sprinter's stage, Hugo, maybe someone like Ventoso, but that's it.

I'm actually not so sure about that. Sure, guys like Gavazzi don't stand a chance tomorrow but I think that guys like Goss, Ventoso and perhaps even Viviani and Bouhanni have a chance tomorrow. Think of stage 5. I don't think tomorrow is much harder than that one.

Reckon stage 13 will be a sprint. Cav might even still be there depending on how it plays out. Aquarone hasn't been shy about knocking out these stages - st16 (bit harder) and st.17 are very similar.

tomorrow's stage is ~254km long, so for sure it's harder. And even that uncategorized climb with ~13km to go has 7% over 3km - and there's another bump to follow

But I also think today's stage will be hard for the sprinters, so what do you expect me to say about tomorrow ;)

Well, if you think today will be hard for the sprinters (well, it probably will, but it will almost guarenteed end in a sprint), I can understand why we disagree about tomorrow :D Anyway, let's wait and see. Today will probably be boring but tomorrow should be interesting.

Cav will take this one easily. So far on the sprint stages no one has really challenged him well enough - whenever hes managed to stay at the front he has always won it. Would actually love someone give him a good fight...coz thats about it...its a fight that only Cav will win :)

It's raining rather strongly in whole north Italy and with sometimes strong winds.

In the last few kms there's a few points where the road become VERY narrow and it will be important to be not too far back.

If Gavazzi gets dropped before the finale, on this stage, it´s better for him to join a South American or Asian CT, so he can ride Langkawi and Venezuela the next ten years and win dozens of stages there. :rolleyes:
