I don't understand the hate for sprinter stages. Sprinter stages are so much more exciting than mountain stages. They require better team coordination, better tactics, better bike handling, more rider skill, more daring and so much more exciting. I would love to see a tour with 17 sprint stages, 1 prologue, 1 TTT, 1 classic stage and 1 mountain stage. It would be so much more exciting than the made for the ADHD masses TV events we see now.

Wise words.

And I'm not British and I can't stand Cav, just for the record.

Really? You think sprinters stages are more exciting than mountain stages?

Okay, the final 3 k are interesting. The rest, with all due respect, is boring as hell. That's also the case with mountain stages in modern bike racing, but at least there you have the possibility of earlier attacks.

And how often is this possibility fulfilled? Speaking of attacks by race contenders, not futile Pirazzi-like events. The modern mountain stage - especially with MTF - is as predictable as any sprint stage finish. But while sprint finishes are always exciting - even if it's only for a minute - mountain stages all too often result in long, dull processions of nothingness.

That at the end feature a sprint, just like normal sprint stages. So how can they be worse than flat stages?

No tt, definitely no ttt, and various flat/hilly stages to give a bit of respite to the climbers (at least 8 mountainous stages). Do me fine :D

This is exactly why we watch GTs. NOT with all respect. ;)

There's a few slight inclines of 2-6%; Cav to get dropped. :p
This is the only way I'd watch this stage. Please PM me if this happens.

It is plain impossible to love every aspect of something. Especially something that changes overtime.
