Ok, Scheldgrdepreis*&#%! is over. Time to talk Roubaix. Does Cancellara's crash affect his chances? Can OPQS salvage its classics season with a podium? Will Sky and BMC disappoint again? Will Garmin even get anyone in the top 10? Who will crash out?

For me it's:

***** Cancellara (assuming his crash won't have an effect)
**** Kristoff, Haussler, Roelandts, EBH (this group is probably closer to 3.5 stars)
*** Paolini, Thomas, Chavanel
** Pozzato, Boom, Flecha, Degenkolb, Hushovd
* Greipel, Langeveld, Stannard, Phinney, Turgot

Can a mod take Van Avermaet out of the poll (and sticky, of course) and put Pozzato, Hushovd, or Degenkolb in his place (your choice), please? I had forgotten GvA is out.

Cancellara

Oss
EBH
Phinney
Chavanel

Bozic
Haussler
Boom
Ladagnous
Flecha

as my top 10- though Turgot looks strong too. I put Boom in as the one person who has been flying under the radar- if not Pozzato.
Hoping for Hushovd, Thomas, Langeveld and also Hayman (not on my CQ squad to go well).

Since Thomas can blame his crash that he did not follow Spartacus last weekend, I have him as my "favorite" to beat Cancellara. That, and of course the fact that he is from SKY. And since Porte is not in the race, i suspect that Thomas will be there main guy.

I don't recall ever having seen odds like this for a race like Paris Roubaix; according to the bookies, Cancellara is better than 1 in 2 to win and the next better ones are Phinney and Hushovd at more than 1 in 10, so those stars really do justice to how much of a favourite Cancellara appears to be.

Once again it'll be the peloton vs Cancellara. I really like the guy, but history is not in favour of him winning under those circumstances. I can easily see someone from a break winning this time.

Spartacus the overwhelming favourite, but last time that occured his team was non-existant. After Devolder and Roulston's performance at de Ronde he may well have far more help this time out.

If you're RS, do you go with Devolder up the road in a move akin to JVS last time?

Will we ever see e real Boonen vs Cancellara in this race again? 2010 was such a great race

No chance for rain, I guess?

It's understandable. Only a fully fit Boonen in form would have changed the odds. I think only bad luck or a break that the peloton don't react to quick enough can stop Cancellara.

It's astonishing that Stannard is omitted from the poll and that Thomas and EBH are in ahead of him.

People like EBH, Van Avermaet, Haussler and Paolini have no place on that poll ahead of guys like Vansummeren, Boom and Flecha.

Do you base that on Stannard's RVV performance, where he almost was top 100? He seems to only do well in terrible weather, so the weather forecast works against him.

Thomas or EBH probably won't win the race, but they are still the best options for Sky IMO.

Either Cancellera rides away with it and wins by a ridiculous margin or someone fairly random takes it from a breakaway in the last 80km. Look at the past 8 years, either Boonen/Cancellera or a lucky breakaway rider (O'Grady, Van Summeren) won the race. I would love to see something like 2011.

I dont belive Kristoff is strong enough for the podium in this race, I hope I am wront though. He said himself that Flandern suites him better than Roubaix, I think the best he can hope for is a top-10.

Hushovd was sick at the Flandern or at least his breath was bad but his legs was good according to a interview after the race, so there is some doubt about how well his body will work. But then again he has done bad in Flandern before and come back at Roubaix. So I will consider him a dark horse.

I hope for a battle of the giants rather than a breakaway win, but probably Cancellara is the one who gets it in the end.

I think Phinney will od really well he has been a beast in the flat and he is good at the cobbles. But I dont think anyone can beat Cancellara

My podium 1 Cancellara, 2 Phinney, 3 Boom
