Finally the Vuelta begins. On paper the first stage looks like a classic vuelta stage, short with a hill sprint in the end. But it is quite lumpy along the way so there might be some selection before the sprint. And the scenery will be beautiful of course, so it's definitely worth it to tune in before the last 15 minutes.

Looks like J-Rod vs Piti in the finale. Hoping for some Astana magic of course.

Froome to lose 30 seconds.

Somebody knows more about this Caminito del Rey? I read it used to be a less than 1 meter wide walkway on the walls of a gorge, but it got restored this year. This is a video of the restauration. What am I missing here?

Caminito del Rey also gives name to the surrounding area. So obviously riders won't be riding the pathway but they will finish on the high grounds that give access to it.

Cheers.

Should be Purito v Piti, it will be interesting to see how the legs of Froome, Quintana and Nibali are after the Tour.

If I'm not mistaken this climb is about 2.5km at almost 10% right? or 9%?
Punch climbers climb. If raced hard from the bottom only a few will survive.

Yes exactly, if some of the GC guys are not at it tomorrow they could lose 30+ seconds easily.

Ha, ha, I was just kidding/speaking from the heart. Bala to win tomorrow.

Expecting Valverde vs Martin vs Purito. Anyone got a detailed profile of the last climb btw? Looks like 3 km at 8% or something. Think that it's flat enough to be controlled by Katusha/Movistar

Froome to start bleeding seconds

Probably Piti/Purito, but I'm hoping Degenkolb keeps up and makes it interesting. Some GC may get caught out tomorrow unfortunately.

I like the way you but you're delusional if you think any of those stands a chance against André Cardoso :D

I disagree. Cardoso is a major treat for GC so he'd only be allowed to win had he lost the expected 10 minutes in yesterday's TTT.
